    Trapped players

My daughter will become one of the trapper players in Fall 2021. While the club still offers scrimmages and training in Fall, I'd like to learn about suggestions of gaining game experience in Fall. We're in Princeton area.

The ecnl allows trapped players to play “down” for the fall season before their actual on year club season begins. EDP has same rule, i believe.

How is the club offering scrimmages? Are they against other teams in the club? Or against teams from other clubs? How many other trapped players are there on her team?

Friendlies within the club or scrimmages with another team (younger A team or older B team). Don't know how many will be trapped yet.

GA is 10 months season so there is no trapped player issue.

Also GA is the top league in the nation so you have that advantage as well over ECNL. HS soccer is overrated so choose wisely.

I don’t think EDP allows for playing down. My daughter was trapped last year and we were able to work out a plan with the club that worked for us. Covid was a factor in it too so we weren’t as fully impacted by lack of soccer you may have in other years.

All these coaches know one another, your club should have some connections to other clubs to find a guest spot on a 2007 team for the fall.

Come on dude or dudette. Don’t F up this thread. This is a solid topic with a parent that looks to be seeking substantive responses. Not this BS again.

If appropriate for your daughter, consider training with a boys 2008 team. Won’t get games but will get a lot out of training.

What BS? Just check out GA website it’s the top league for girls in the nation and they play during the HS season so that’s a huge bonus as well.

The non-trapped players on your daughter's team will probably be busy with HS soccer, so that will affect how available they are to participate in club friendlies. Older B teams probably not doing a lot since those roster are usually 100% in HS soccer. Best thing to do is probably to do as much training with the U14 team that she can and play games with her middle school team.

I was going to say. Trapping is a lost art and a lot of work, but can eek out a living if your good at it. I was imaging a few lines set up around the goal catching squirrels and such
