So two threads are mentioning a merger with Scorpions. One suggests Select, and the other NEFC. Lots of rumors. Any facts?

It's probably you starting both posts! but I'll play along.....If it's not you-which it is- It's most likely NEFC or select parents hoping against hope that a merger will take place to get their kids that are stuck in GA out and into ECNL. 1. LL and NR are mortal enemies so unless LL is willing to pay triple that won't happen
2. ECNL has pretty much banned LL from every joining ECNL

Scorpions tryouts are Monday May 3rd for anyone looking to get out of GAL/DPL. So with tryouts set for next year taking place in 8 days I don't see a merger from any club. What are they going to pick the ECNL teams next week and then say whoops tryouts again??????
Like the previous poster said enjoy GA and NPL. A merger ain't happening.Comment

Why in the world would Scorpions merge with Bayside?? For Bayside's 1 or2 very good players per age group?? Wouldn't it be easier for Scorpions to just recruit those 2 players each year? if I was Scorps or Stars wouldn't they just wait until GA folds in the next year or two? That's almost a 100% certainty that the league folds. Wouldn't the price double or triple when Select or NEFC are faced with the prospect of their top teams playing NPL! Bad business to merge now. NR and LL absolutely despise each other. NR would rather give away Scorpions than help LL clean up her mess that she started 5 years ago. You and I have a better chance of merging with the Scorpions than Select ever does.Comment

Makes sense for select since LL is already disliked in Maple, NEP, ECNL, DA, DPL so adding GA to the long list of leagues disliking wouldn't bother her 1 bit. I have a different take. I think there is some truth to this as I'm sure the Scorpions are dying to get into IMPACT NPL and this would be the only way it could happen for the Scorpions. it's a win/win.
