My kid got an offer from a club, which they said will expire after 3 days. What are people’s experiences with this type of thing? Are clubs very strict about it or are willing to give a little more time? Thanks.

If it is from NY$C, don't worry, they are just trying to lock in the tuition ASAP. History shows that they will take mediocre to poor players any time of the year.

Soccerwire says NYSC is pretty good. Between Westchester, Putnam and even southern CT they are a very good option.

Expiring Offers?

They were taken off the list in 2020.
Just sayn. somethings they get right, somethings not.

Cluns want to lock-in as many players as they can before official tryouts so they know how many more they need, if any

Yes, clubs are trying to lock you in with a deadline but there is more to it then getting you to open your wallet. Clubs may have 6-9 players trying out for a team that may only have three spots needed. They institute a window for you to accept the offer so they know when to move on and offer to the next players on their list. Teams will typically stagger offers in the event their first choices accept.

Somehow with the merger, NYSC inherited Carlos from the FC Westchester as the head of the girls program. He ran a mediocre program at FC Westchester and runs a mediocre program at NYSC. But as it turns out mediocre with good branding, a nice field, and little competition pays the bills. For the three years that there was DA the club at least had that to offer but with the collapse of the DA and the move to GA they don't offer much on the girls side. The GA is a weak league that will continue to get weaker as the ECNL/ECRL grows. If NYSC is lucky the ECNL will grant them ECRL status.

Always been a club more for boys than girls. Any good coach on the girls side gets pulled over to boys asap.
