What about Bayside girls teams to ECNL, lol. Same old story in RI soccer.

If RI had an ECNL club on girls side the best players would happily stay instead of going to MA and CT

You’re right about that. Overpaid youth coaches in MA and CT are no better just in a better league then over paid youth coaches in RI. And MA and CT girls who don’t make Ecnl team in their states would take up 50% of the roster spots from RI girls.

Not true, top players want top teams and strong rosters and there is not enough depth in our state for a full roster of top players when it matters at u15 and up.

Once again every topic has to be turned into a girls conversation.

This isn’t accurate. You have many talented players who play on MA teams and combined with the players already playing in state you can assemble competitive teams across the board.

Are the boys leaving MLS Next?

Competitive at what level is the question. Bayside boys already have the academy pathway locked up. On the girls side there are only a handful of top-tier teams across MA, and that's with some NH and RI players already mixed in.

Agree. You take top players on 06 - 09 bayside and surf teams, plus the handful of those playing in ma currently, and you have teams that are as strong if not stronger than the MA clubs.

This plus you still can pick up southeastern ma players.

But why would the southeastern MA players and even the RI players who have a roughly equal commute to MA play here in RI?

They are all related and come from the same part of Portugal. Madeira

roughly equal? Not so sure that is the case for RI players and border town MA players. Top choice would be FC Stars which is not a convenient commute for anyone in RI / MA border towns. Scorpions are an option, assuming they are training in Taunton vs Braintree, but that club is only an option since they have the ECNL spot, and if Bayside had ECNL, no one would go to Scorpions. Arguably NEFC is possibility but serious questions remain about the staying power and strength of GAL.
