Summer Camp

Curious if anyone has any recommendations for summer camps for the age group 2005-2009 and can give a review as to why they recommend it. There is a large number of camps offered in this area from UK elite overnight, to Nike, Barca, and Sounders-advanced.

The Barca camp is the same week as the Valencia camp and at the same location...Starfire. Very different camps. They had the same issue last year being at the same place the same week. https://www.eagleclawfc.org/valencia-cf-summer-academy

For 2005-2009 kids it depends on if the players are serious or casual. For more serious players, the Valencia camp is probably the better option. For less serious players or Barca fans, the Barca camp is the ticket. The two camps are different, but they are the exact same week at the exact same place, so no way to do both. Best to research all them and decide what you want.

There is also a Real Madrid camp at Starfire the week after the Valencia-Barca camps. Sounders camp should be at the bottom of your list IMHO.

Overnight or Day?

Our daughter has had fun at the Peter Fewing and Northwest Soccer
Camp overnight sessions. Pete’s is a little bit more of a “summer camp” experience (cabins, campfires, swimming, etc.). Northwest they stay in dorms at Bastyr. She likes both. Think you’d do better with those than the ones you mentioned.

Sounders day camps are mostly fun, attracting kids at all levels. Wouldn't choose it for serious soccer though there is a curriculum

If you can get into the TOVO camp I recommend that. However they have a very small group so getting spots can be tough.

Really depends on the age and gender of your kid. The ulittles 07-09, these camps are fine for both boys/girls. G05, no way. G05 means she is becoming a sophomore in hs. This is the time you should be exploring local id camps for experience, making your college list, studying for the SAT/ACT, summer tournaments/showcases, etc. Of course, if your dd is really serious about playing in college.

The Barca and Valencia camps are 5-days. Valencia is advertised as 9am-3pm M-F.

Tovo is $575 for 4 days! It’s basically the same type of training as Eagleclaw or vice versa, depending on your point of view. You can get 5 days of training at the Valencia camp for $495. I guess the Tovo camp is limited to 40 players, so maybe there is a small group feeling to it. Otherwise, Valencia seems to be the better deal.
