I think he's committed to bringing up the kids on the team he has. He started with his XF teams at a young age too.

Not everything is about the coach. It's also about the talent pool and parent involvement. XF has one of the largest talent pools in the area with very involved parents. Also coaches are frequently more focused on winning than development, thus the results.

No, they are not. Lost some of the best & will lose whatever good coaches are left

The talent pool is deep, the coaching pond is shallow with some ends being rocky and unsuited for voyage.

So I can agree with this. You'd agree that the current coaching slate seems underwhelming?

Coaches of losing teams use development as an excuse. Most individual development happens away from the team.

Not just soccer either. All sports.

Disagree. Soccer is team sports. Individual footwork, agility, and coordination can be developed away from the coach and team. But it is not an individual sport. The coach needs to instill the team with tactics and encourage certain playing philosophy, rather than simply booting the ball forward and then running for goal opportunities. It is not an easy job, requiring patience and belief. Unfortunately most of them do not want to spend time developing players and teams. (that is why they pick big and fast kids in younger ages. That is why many teams fade away when they grow old) If you are a coach, just ask yourself: when is the last time you reviewed the game video and develop a plan working on the problems that were shown in that game? My wild guess would be no for most of you, if not all. It is ok you just regard it a paycheck job, but to some degree coaches are educators.

Best advice from the FIFA Pro level coach right here! I bet all your players have fixed positions since they are seven, like a lot of XF coaches do. Who cares if they won't grow up to be a good defender, and also won't have any practice playing other positions. All that matters is that they are good at taking the ball away so your team does not concede any goals.

It’s our resident crap coach. I see you.

Not sure where your kid plays, but yes, on top teams coaches look at game film and incorporate that into their strategy.

XF ECNL 1 team, but to the best of knowledge, I don't his coach watched any game videos.-:)

I wouldn't be surprised if some players from his 07 team move over to Eastside. And "think"ing he's commited to bringing up the kids on the team he has is one thing but it doesn't mean that would be how it plays out either. My understanding was that TL is required to take a year away from the previous age(s) that he coached while with XF. I hope that he does start building up a team from scratch and continue on up but most clubs have a maximum amount of years you can be with the same team. Others said TL was not a good coach either but he was a good recruiter and was able to build a team that played with their natural talent and not much actual coaching. I wouldn't know as my daughter plays in WP but it is what other parents have stated.

I think XF must have lost focus to let that goal in. Whole club is going to hell.
