Is ecnl still the best championship for this age group? I was under the impression that the best players are playing mls, d1 or mls next at this point in their career, and this is like winning the RCL as a 14 year old. Am I wrong?

You are wrong. They were ranked #6 in the country (Top Drawer soccer) before winning the Championship and that included all of the MLS teams.

Really, even the Sounders? I am not talking about the 'academy' teams, I am talking about the fact that the best players have already signed up for the professional or college teams by the time they are 19, and whoever remains plays U19 ECNL soccer.
