To be clear, "be careful" means you might feel frightened, but you're unlikely to be in any real danger. It's fine for visiting, but no shame in avoiding it.

I was going to say, there is a lot of homeless. Just be aware of your surroundings, packing a weapon isnt a terrible idea. There is a nice botanical garden in Bellevue. Look for farmers markets. Obviously pike place market. Get yourself on a ferry, thats an enjoyable ride. Area farms have events, those are fun to visit. Wine in woodinville. There is a big arts scene if you like music and the arts. San Juan Islands are delightful. Kayaking and hiking everywhere. Puyallup has the state fairgrounds, there is usually something happening there on weekends.

Ummm......The crime statistics in the region beg to differ. It takes one wrong interaction to be in real danger. I agree, no shame in avoiding it.

"Packing a weapon". Like out of town tourists are capable of winning a wild west shootout at a moments notice. Unless by weapon you mean nun chucks. Then I agree that would be awesome.

We just drove by and checked out the fields. They would’ve been fine. Not sure what issue they had.

When they walked them Friday morning there was standing water on the fields. Little kids may not damage them to much, but high school aged ECNL kids would destry them for the whole summer. Not worth it for a half price tournament that is mostly crossfire teams anyway. Glad it was canceled.

the police don’t care… Seattle is a no go Zone.

Let me guess- you were coming from Bellevue & missed the 42 opportunities to park and were stressed out before you saw this “car jacking”? BTW - Nothing on the Seattle PD Twitter reports of event you saw.
That said, Yes - there are bad areas of a major metropolitan city- but they are easy to avoid.

Seattle (especially the tourism areas) is as safe as any city. Just because you're uncomfortable with homelessness doesn’t mean you’re unsafe.

Sorry if you had a bad experience, but you are out of line. we live in 98119, so know the city well. We can walk or 5 minute Uber to Space Needle, Climate Pledge Arena, Benaroya Hall, SODO stadiums, and all the best downtown restaurants. Feel more safe now than in last 10 years- but still never felt it was as bad as other cities we lived in - Chicago, NYC & SFO

I have a feeling your monster truck with custom wraps probably just doesn’t fit downtown ?

I live in 98118… I also saw the the drive by on lake view soccer field, open gang war fare on Rainier and too many open air drug bizzares to count around maclellen. The Seattle police don’t care… here is proof!

And for the record 98119 is Lilly white magnolia. I live in the part of Seattle that has real crime.
