yes, they can hire mediocre coaches and charge a ton of money for training. Try to find this academy in any of the rankings to figure out whether or not they are good.

If it was any good I wouldn’t need to.

It’s a weird franchise. The member clubs do not have a direct relationship with Dortmund. Some guy named Peter Brody in Texas runs an outfit called Youth Soccer International Academy. That company apparently has a deal with Dortmund to run the BVB International Academy in the US and sell franchises. The Washington franchise used to be called Shoreline Soccer Club. They just rebranded.

Let's revisit the question. when did you first start to google regularly, vs when did google begin? ;-)

Actually, Brody identifies potential groups, Dortmund then comes in and accesses the organization. The Washington franchise is made up of 2 groups. The rebranded Shoreline Soccer Club and a group that is located in Renton.

My kid played with BVB Renton. Club is only 2-3 years old. Coaches from Dortmund came and accessed and evaluated the kids 3 times throughout the year then selected a group from the US to travel back to Germany for 2 weeks. Great experience for those selected.

That’s pretty cool, you never know what comes of those kids of opportunities. It only takes one coach to believe.

How much did each kid pay for the 2 week experience. Did it equate to a Pulisic style contract?

No it doesn’t. It takes way more than that.
