Where do you get this sense that noone wants to be a part of EPD? Over a 100 kids tried out for many of the age groups. Kids from Bainbridge Island to Bellingham to Van WA came to try out. Kids from non RCL teams (ie Gunners, Celtics, Athletic, MIFC, Bellevue FC) are on travels teams.

Washington teams are doing quite well at Regionals in AZ

Is there any value for the SoCal teams winning every game by 15? Honestly interested if there’s been a single D1 coach spotted yet.
They need to do something about WY, it isn't good for the sport if the top players from WY come down and get beaten 10-0. It won't make them better players or make them want to continue. I don't know the answer, maybe do 2 divisions?

Cal, AZ, WA etc div 1.
        WY, AK, ID, div 2

I think this should be considered. Someone forward the idea please.

They are indeed, is it like this every year? I am quite surprised at how WA is doing. I was under the impression WA was mid tier in the region at best. Certainly no CA, but WA is doing well. I think many WA players will move on to the next round, whatever that is called.

Seems like WA should generally be just below So Cal and around the same as Nor Cal. I do think that a lot of the top So Cal teams have their not play, (like XF here) so that gives WA a chance to compete.

Congrats to 2010, 2009, and 2008 boys for winning the 2022 ODP Far West Championship! Way to represent Washington State soccer!

Agreed, but the problem is doesn't some clubs like XF discourage OPD? Not sure if they just suggest not to do it or literally forbid them. If I got the clubs mixed up I apology, but I know there was at least one larger club that didn't let players go.

Not a WYS issue. Complain to your club.

The WA teams did really well and I think usually do. The youngers dominated this year particularly on the boys side.

2010 boys was a WA v WA final
2009 boys beat both CA teams on way to championship
2008 boys goal differential was +34 on way to championship

I think older boys lose talent over the years to the sounders academy.

On the girls side WA teams did well at youngers but lost to CA and HI which is not uncommon. Hard to say for older girls as most were at ECNL showcase.
