OYSA clubs generally don't swipe each other's fields.
SCA is unique and not in a good way.

OYSA clubs often fight fiercely with each other for field access. There were some recent 04 recruiting shenanigans which raised eyebrows even in the no-holds-barred recruiting environment. And RTC/ODP has long been an opportunity to try and poach players.
What SCA did, and did successfully, is identify players who were unhappy with their current club situation. In some cases families are paying twice--they signed up for club A, decided they didn't like the situation there, and moved on--still owing dues to their original club.
Remember, coaches--unless you are providing free training, the players and the parents are your CUSTOMERS, not your employees. NONE of you is so unique or talented or special in your club offerings that families need put up with the usual BS. True, there are some snake oil salesmen out there, but generally they don't last very long. Sometimes the best thing for a kid is to move on. And 99% of talk of "loyalty" coming from club coaches is self-serving nonsense; many of whom view it as a one-way street.

But they do engage in rather tacky sales tactics and did swipe (using term loosely) one of Eastside's fields. Realize they are having a hard time fielding full teams at age, but it makes it hard to cheer for them when mean old OYSA leaves them no choice but to travel every weekend to Spokane and Bellingham to play the 50th toughest team in Washington.

I'd like to see more new clubs follow the model of Saints Academy. If I were closer, I would join them, coach there, get my entire family there. I love their mission and I wish them nothing but the best.
The problem is you have a lot of snakes not willing to admit what they are. At least SCA isn't afraid to admit they're snakes. I can actually respect that. The rest are liars, cheats and car salesmen - doing the same hoping nobody figures them out.
I watched a SCA Game at Nike Cup. No idea who he is or was, but I know a decent coach when I see one.
But in the environment we live in, at least you have some snakes not afraid to say their snakes. I actually have less problem with that.

SCA coaches were well aware of this decision, and still tried manipulating their way around it by creating fictional websites and team names. They are lucky they have such a blind faith following as most savvy soccer families would have run for the hills the minute they were asked to falsely proclaim themselves as FC Huracan.
