Nevermind all the bug non profit clubs funnel cash to their for profit businesses...so does OYSA want to deal with that considering how focused they are on not allowing for profit clubs to play.

I was under the impression that the Timbers hired OYSA staff and then took over and used OYSA to get the benefits/profits of the OYSA leagues? Is that wrong?

Bad deal having for-profits and non-profits mix. I understand why OYSA would drop the hammer.

Was there someone who was a staff member of OYSA non-profit that was hired by the Timbers? I don't really care either way but that would be funny.

Depends on the tournament--they can permit who they like.

Many require a team be registered with some US Soccer affiliate; it doesn't have to be OYSA/USYSA; US Club-registered teams are also eligible.

Some tournaments don't care.

And even if a tournament might otherwise prohibit unregistered teams; if Huracan had previously received player cards and registered in good faith, a tournament might well still permit them to play, rather than having to refund their fees and create holes in their brackets. Tournament directors HATE byes.

(Some TD might try and be a d1ck and boot out IFC while keeping their money, claiming fraud, but I hope not).

Not that simple - tournaments need sanctioning to get insurance; licensed refs and assignors are prohibited from doing unsanctioned tournaments. To be sanctioned, players have to a card (but yes there are potential options to get cards from other than oysa).

That sounds very fishy. Is that why OYSA is worried? If Timbers are filling into those revenue streams it would be questionable.

Have a day off. OYSA is 8 games in fall and spring no more. SCA isn't going anyway, sorry about that.

The staff at SCA considered OYSA a viable addition for a games programme for their teams, no more.

It’s actually 12 games in the Fall and 8 in the Spring, and some Cup match options. Glad you can live without it.

There about 24 games available to a team in OYSA where are the games going to come from for SCA.

Before SCA started cashing checks they should have established a business model they could execute and leave their soccer clients wondering what is going to happen after the summer tournaments.
