I am sure there were more players, but my point was that was a stupid comment to say "Sunset had Onyx for 4 years", so Ben should have won state. Onyx was not the answer to winning state and most of Onyx was not on the Sunset team. Of course I don't have a clue and you would know.

So now we have disproved your position that Sunset had Onyx, you have moved on to Ben had the top roster in the state easily and couldn't win anything.

Ben had a good roster, but even for most people who dislike Ben, would not say that Ben had the top roster in state easily. It is a debatable to say he had the top roster. I am not sure how you can say "top roster in the state easily".

Did Ben call you mom fat or something? Not sure why you are so angry that you are making stuff up.

Does every thread end up being a stroll down Onyx lane. :))

Great team and hope they are all finding success in College.

That was my point as well and even if they were all that, hardly any Onyx players went to Sunset.

Of course the idiot thought otherwise without any real data.

There is life beyond soccer. Some of these kids probably realized that soccer at the college level is more work than fun and is not worth the work.

The poster of the list didn’t mean “went on to play in college”, literally. Meant to say got there and quit.

The poster (which was probably you) was also incorrect in saying "so few kids of these kids were able to stick it out". More than half on the list are still on college rosters. Kids dropping out of college athletics is normal.

Half after a year isn't normal. Dont really care one way or another but that doesnt seem normal to me. That seems high.

Kids from cu dropping out is normal

Never forget onyx did not do Ecnl and played OYSA all up to their u17 years

Meanwhile cu tells everyone Ecnl is to credit and now their teams and sub par across the board and they didn’t even have a signing day for their 2019 class.

                        My how times have changed.

Developed by a coach that is no longer there and was pushed out.

He coached them for 8 yeaRs

That is the measure of cu. now all they do is claim bestest while playing gutted teams and asking eevrveyine for money

Could be normal. The transfer dropout of sports rates are exceedingly high in girls soccer period. First problem is once Oregon girls get to college and have to compete against recruits from other areas, our Oregon girls often end up at or near the bottom of a 30 player roster. Second, the smart ones that used soccer as a hook to get into a high academic college, often quit to concentrate on academics. Third, often girls get to college and realize they want a life outside of soccer, especially if they aren’t playing much anyway.
What was unique about onyx was how many made it to D1 and other college soccer in the first place. What they decided to do after that, in no way diminishes their successful college commitments. At least they all made it to the show.

Title IX's trickle down on Women's college Soccer forces every level of college coach to dig and offer spots well below their desired type of student athlete in order to maintain a roster of 28-30 players. The unintended consequence of Title IX creates a basic supply and demand problem. Not enough supply (appropriate student athletes) each graduation year to meet the 1000+ schools forced(by title ix) to field womens soccer squads.

Oregon club girls that elect to join college squads each year have documented less than a 50% retention rate. See the local club team mentioned on this thread. Most quit, get pushed out, some transfer to lower levels. They soon realize it's not as easy as paying to play on the local club team. The rare exceptional Oregonian usually plays 4 years and graduates, but these exceptions.

If you don't know this that's on the parent who is funding the comical pay to travel club farce.

This is a cautionary tale of what can happen if you continue to inflate & hype a group of locals on a kiddie forum. Reinforcing the fact they didn't belong in what you laughingly call the 'show'. Show is over. Next.
