Wonder who wants to take over at Sunset?? Class next year is suppose to be stacked too.
Kid didn’t even go to Sunset, but nice response. Merely saying he had a ton of talent year in and year out and yet never won anything. I did see him get escorted by security from a Jesuit game and that was entertaining

Our kids go to Jesuit. Hope you are not a Jesuit parent.

          High school season is over.

Jesuit will win it all, easily, next year 2019.

          Nobody will come close.

          Sorry.

LOL! Ben has never won anything anywhere. He has won nothing coaching club or High School. Players from FC Portland, THUSC and Westside are the reason Sunset does as well as they do..... and Ben packing it in. Unfortunately for them, the talent at Sunset is very thin without a single top player on the team these days.

The club players are the ones that make up Jesuit, Moutainside, Clackamas, West Linn, etc...

HS coaches get players for about 2 months before playoffs. What are you hoping for?

Club players make up Sunset too. There are 3 clubs feeding them. The point is that Ben simply gets out coached.

Sunset HS has not won the HS championships in over 25 years. This dates back to when there were only 3 high schools in the Beaverton school district. Sunset has won 1 championship (and tied for another) since 1977.

If you actually take off your blinders you can see that other than Jesuit, Sunset probably has the best playoff record the last few years.

What is your beef with Ben anyways? Of course it is always Ben's fault.

On one hand you are saying that Ben can't coach, but then you are saying in another post that there is no upcoming talent at Sunset. Sunset really didn't graduate any quality players this year, but still manage to make it to the quarterfinals of playoffs. If you are crediting the clubs with feeding players into Sunset then why are you blaming Ben for the lack of talent on the team this year and next year. Isn't that a function of the clubs?

How can younhave the best playoff record when you have not won anything?

My beef is that Sunset needs a better coach. If you go back and read my post you will see I am not complaining about talent. That is not the problem. I very clearly said Ben gets out coached.

Always lacked top talent. You can only make soup with the ingredients you have.

No they havn’t. Sunset had Onyx for 4 years and Ben couldn’t win a thing with them. He absolutely had the top team in the state back then. Now Sunset is predominantly FC. So, unless FC is failing, Sunset still has quality players for Ben to work with.

Sunset should make it deep into the playoffs every year. The point he has had talent rich teams but gets out coached.

You don’t need to defend Ben. I know him and he does not give a rip what people think. A much needed attitude in this age. He cut 3 or 4 seniors this year. He will always have haters come with the territory.

That is such a stupid comment.

Jesuit had one of Onyx keeper and a Onyx defender who quit club her freshman year.

Westview had a midfielder and another midfielder played in Mollala.

Another midfielder forward lived in Hillsboro.

One of the defenders played for Grant and another for Catlin.

Two of the players were from Salem and did not play HS

                              Forward played for Southridge.

You mean Sunset had an Onyx forward who quit club to focus on hoops and another forward who was not one of the original Onyx forward. Is that what you mean when you say that Sunset had Onyx??

There were more players then that and you would know if you had a clue. Back then Ben had the top roster in the state easily and couldn’t win anything.
