5-0 loss. Goes to show you how huge the competition drop off is from 6A to 5A. At least Summit had all those years of exemptions to play in 5A and mop up. It’s the remaining 5A teams who are rejoicing the most. In Summits defense, any other 5A team would’ve lost 10-0 or more. Whoever hoists the 5A trophy this year will know that they’d be devimated in 6A.

Looks like Sunset pulled off a lucky tie with South Eugene.

6A is ten times tougher than 5A. Summit will do better once they get used to the much higher level of competition and will even win some. The 6A leagues outside of Portland are rather weak.

              Uh, guess again, cowboy.

Sunset was up for about 75 mins.....SE got lucky and looped a flukey/lucky kick that bounced around off the crossbar and bounced in.
Sunset definitely outplayed SE for a solid portion of that game. SE GOT lucky and tied Sunset at the end.

That said, Sunset is young/inexperienced and started a handful of freshman. They will learn and understand the HS game is different than club. They will take a few lumps this fall.

Thanks to the smoke Summit hasn’t practiced outside in over a month. Same thing happened last year and they lost to 4a Marist before winning State. They’ll be just fine when they can actually start practicing again.

Poor Sunset didn’t beat an entire team of freshmen and sophomores in hicksville. What a difference a year makes.

No one has been able to practice due to the smoke. Summit will be just fine once they start playing weaker league games in Albany and Salem.

Sunset is lucky to not have lost that game 5-0.

Really? Lmao. So you think HS practice is the key do you? Just a few more times playing pass and running wind sprints and it should all come together right? If the team isn't chalked full of players who play year round and keep their fitness and skills sharp regardless then they don't have a chance with or without "outdoor" practices.

With practice they may have only lost to Sherwood 3-0.

Does Summit play Sunset? Summit could maybe get a win off Sunset?

Pretty sure that happened to Sherwood as well. Look, except that you were trounced, learn from it and move on. Only one game. Practicing indoors had nothing to do with the domination that took place last night.
