This may make the Crossfire honks feel a BIT better... the team that slaughtered XF06 14-0, just destroyed WPFC (one of the top clubs in the pacific northwest) 6-0. So evidently they are really good.

All three of the local boys DA teams competing have their second games this afternoon. (The non-DA brackets don't start until tomorrow--DA requires no more than one match per day, but for SuperBlack it's daily doubles the whole weekend long...)

        Meaning

The meaning is this fight between ENCL and US Soccer (prior to this USYS and ECNL) isn’t about development it is a about who racks up the most cash.

Example. Timbers are all about US DA until the local clubs got a little DA, then is was don’t leave OYSA, translations don’t take your money to USSF

Bottomline is no one cares about your kid, they care about your wallet and if you are spending your kids college fund or worse your retirement on soccer you are a fool. It is all rec soccer when everyone is elite. Don’t kid yourself your kid is average!

It's already happening with U23 and under age groups/players developed within ECNL platform.

I know many of you have your preferences and biases but ask yourself if you truly believe that out of all the ECNL and non-GDA u15 players in our country, is it reasonable that only ONE was good enough for this team? That’s nonsense.

US Soccer has sent a very clear message. There is no path to the national team but through them. That is their right, I guess, but it’s holding our kids hostage (what about kids who live nowhere near an academy club?) and is bad, sleazy business.

A national team is supposed to be about gathering the best. That process is always subjective and open to criticism. But what US soccer is doing is clearly trying to drive a strong competitor out of business. And that hurts our future national team, our players, and Youth Soccer as a whole.

I predict in 10-15 years our national team will be passed up by anywhere from 3-6 other nations. We are already struggling to regain dominance. But if this pattern of selecting girls only from one platform continues, we won’t be medaling in the Olympics or winning world cups again for a long long time.
Here is the message, keep working hard at your local clubs.

If a player is scouted or observed to be of National team quality/potenial they will be offered a spot at a DA program.

This process has been going on for 10+ years with boys why is it now a crisis that girls get treated with the same level of consideration and respect as boys?

USYS & US Club need to serve their memberships and let US Soccer do their job running natuinal programs.

USSF had no intentions of doing GDA until the women's national team started a PR campaign (and lawsuits) to highlight their unequal treatment. Suddenly GDA gets announced - look what we're doing!

Squeaky wheel gets the grease, they say.

Sometimes you get what you wished for.

                Well Done.

Completely the opposite of well done. DA has ruined the mens side. USA has gone from mediocre to a international joke. Hope the GDA doesnt take the womens side down the same road. Diversity is what makes us unbeatable as a country. GDA is to narrowly focused.

The US Club showcase/league for college coaches viewing, has set the country back at least 25 years, not sure US Soccer can dig out of this terrible greedy club mess that shifted the needle towards exposure vs developing strong teams, coaches & players. It's too bad US Soccer didn't put a stop to this insanity sooner, it's been a painful last 5 years watching our youth girls nat teams lose to concacaf minnows. Identifying the problem then creating a solution our steps in new direction.

You are searching for a point to secure your decision way to hard. Clean the warts out of your eyes. ECNL is the solution not the problem. It is why all the best clubs in the US are coming back. You missed the boat and get over it. FCP still looking for kids.

True that. U17 US National team ,dominated by ECNL players ,went to penalty shootout with Haiti this year. American players were conditioned, strong , athletic, fast with low soccer IQ and technically bismal.Haiti’s teams make it work with donations.Things need to change.

So almost all this kids were GDA. U17 is 16 year olds who have been in GDA for 2 years now, since GDA inception. These kids chose GDA because they are soccer only and believe GDA is best path to USWNT. You are actually proving the point that athletes, our best are not choosing GDA. Well done, yet another win for you and US Soccer..... Multisport athletes have always been our advantage...

You can't be in GDA for two years when the first whistle blew late August 2017. GDA will be the best path for NT because that's all USSF will look at after this year for political reasons, not because there's no talent in ECNL. Thing is, 99% aren't NT players and 95% of them know it. If GDA doesn't deliver on what they're looking for, they're gone. They have other options. Boys by and large do not. That was one of USSF's biggest mistakes - assuming everyone would move over, so they went whole hog with a big national league. A smaller one would have had tighter quality and better performance. If they had proved themselves they could have expanded.
