Westside loses players because their club sucks. No other reason. Same goes for Eastside.

Doesn't every club 'suck' when measured against the Portland Timbers DA? This club (Westside) produces the most players that get chosen for the Portland Timbers DA at a clip no other local club that also 'sucks' can even compete with. Jealous much?

Eastside is on the Eastside and like all clubs in Oregon they suck as well.

Yes, you are correct the Westside Timbers lose the most players both boys & girls to the mighty DA & GDA programs of the Portland Timbers and Portland Thorns than all other clubs combined. Having the top talent will give rise to an Exodus to the next level. Which does suck for the Westside Timbers at a certain level for sure.

As for Capital, Bend, Eugene, Medford & Washington Timbers clubs they might lose their top athletes to another sport but those areas don't have any competing relevant or 'better' soccer club within their region.

As for the Eastside Timbers they are pretty well geographically locked like those remote clubs above, so the kids can't be lost to better clubs to the east like Zig-Zag soccer club on the base of Mt.Hood they aren't going north to the Troutdale elite clubs or heading south to the Molalla or Estacada training centers or even heading west to the Gladstone or Milwuaukie rec clubs or THELO.

It's actually amusing how stupid you are. The majority of the "mighty GDA Thorns 01/02 team" came from...wait for it...Capital, Eugene, Vancouver, and Eastside. I don't think there's a single Westside girl on the team. But keep deluding yourself that people won't "drive all that way" from Gresham, Salem, or Eugene if they think there's a better opportunity for their little Mia.

For the upcoming program called the GDA (Portland Thorns/NWSL) players will come from every club in Oregon & SW Washt: Notably THUSC, LOSC, WUSC, FC PDX, SSC, WST, WaTimbers, EastTimbers, PCU, NEU, BSC, GPS, WT T/S, Salmon Creek, Salem (Capital), Eugene and even the clubs you never thought were any good.

Competition for spots will be at a level unseen in these parts.

Exciting stuff.

You failed to mention the 'hook' it only costs a nominal Deposit, to be part of the Thorns GDA, just like the Portland Timbers DA...it's being funded by the Portland Thorns and they cover all the travel costs, no local club can compete with this feature. Which is a sick advantage over all the local clubs.

Who the heck creates these rumors? The girls DA will not be free. They are required to offer needs based assistance to a limited number of plasters but I can assure you most families will be paying fees and substantial travel costs.
