US Soccer (formerly the USSF) is the top governing body for American soccer, and the national governing body according to FIFA.

AYSO, USYSA, and US Club are three youth soccer organizations, catering to (roughly) different segments of the youth soccer market, all of which are members of (and located under) US Soccer.

AYSO is mainly rec and does not have a presence in Oregon (or if they do, it's small).

USYSA has many state level affiliates, one of which is OYSA. They also run something called the National Premier League.

US Club Soccer generally does competitive soccer; and located within their ambit is ECNL (Elite Clubs National League). They also run the NW Champions League.

US Soccer directly runs the US mens and women's national teams, the corresponding youth national teams, and the DA and GDA programs.

Various clubs may be affiliated with none, one, or many of these things. FC Portland, for instance, is a member of OYSA and competes in OYSA leagues and cups. It is part of ECNL. It is part of the Boys DA.

Wins and losses are NOT important. Such low level thinking. The younger teams have really struggled but we all have to learn how to lose. Important life lesson. That’s way more important than winning. Smart players know this. US Socceris trying to get people to stop worrying about winning and focus on training instead.

If my kids coach tried to justify the team losing every single game and being blown out while traveling and sacrificing their time and effort I would tell them to piss off.

US soccer is a corrupt company that is trying to make money fooling dumb people into thinking all this is worth it when it only takes 6 months for smart families to realize they are being lied to.

But lucky for those kids, the name carries weight with college coaches who don’t know any better. Been there done that. We got the name and pretty sure it didn’t hurt. She refused to go back though as talent dropped.

Up tread it was suggested they are moving to Westside? Timbers kids soccer staff haven’t confirmed as far as I have seen.

There isn’t relegation but they will be replacing Burlingame at the bottom since they have dropped out.
