$2000/year is not "paid for." And just because something is cheaper does not make it better.

Paying $10 000/year makes it "paid for' as well but it doesnt make it better.. Just makes you stupid to pay that much for travel and lodging.

Thorns is way more than $2,000. There will be add on fees and thousands for extra tournaments like surf cup and Beaverton cup

          Rediculous logic.

Flying 5 hours to lose 7-0 makes you special thorns DA hahahahha
That is not very nice. You are a bad person.

Good I'm glad you took offense to it. Now people have a legitimate example of what they are when they go and spout opposite lies because they think they are elite or special by association.

Actually there won't be any added costs for DA. The $2k includes all training, air and ground travel, hotel, to games and tournaments, and uniforms. It's a very comprehensive package and for those of us that did ECNL last year it will save an easy $4k+ this year.

And yet the vast majority of ECNL players didn't try out. Proving my original point that cheap does not automatically equal good quality.

And yet at this point the quality and talent isn't with the players that play in the Ecnl league

False again. Several players from ECNL tried out. Some made the teams and some didn't. I know three who tried out and didn't make it on. Just because someone played ECNL last year didn't make them top picks for their positions this year.

Thank you for proving my point. 10 ECNL teams in Oregon times 20 players = 200. "Several" trying out means the vast majority did not.

If you do DA plus surf and Beaverton it's only $9,950. No college but still fun

So what? A bunch of very good players were already playing for Thorns Academy and a few more joined them. Thorns DA will be good and Ecnl will continue to be good. There are also some good teams in OYSA. All of them are good teams in Oregon but will struggle vs top teams from other states like CA. Again, so what? Unless you want to move to a different state, play for a whatever team your daughter likes the best, work hard & enjoy. Let's support all the Oregon girls no matter which league they play in.

The "vast majority" wouldn't have made the cut. They knew it and so did not spend the money for the tryout. In some age groups 80+ girls went to tryouts and only 18 made it on the teams no need to knock DA or ECNL or OYSA. Glad we have so many options.

Name these "very good" players in Thornz Asylum. Can't, can you?

There is a group of them that goes to odp regional camp every year, including this year when they didn't even do odp. That means they are very good.
