We are on the right path by eliminating high school Rec Soccer from the equation. Instead these players will spend that time getting quality training with players of like ability. Let's give this time and see where it takes us.

We have no problem with the Timbers making their profits off youth sports I just hate to see them bringing the poor model from the mens side to the girls side. Very disappointing. This will hurt womens soccer over the long run.

Timbers are not good for youth soccer. They are a for profit corporation and such their job is to maximize profits. Unfortunate they are trying to expand their for profit model to girls soccer now.

GDA bashers can cry all they want but we got the elite players and coaching staff. And now some of our wallflowers are blooming and busting loose on the pitch. Wow. All of that from two weeks of practice. Amazing. Thanks for confirming the widely held belief that GDA succeeded in uniting one element of girls soccer - the parents who are the most obnoxious tools in existence. Good luck to your daughter. Any success she has will be in spite of you.

US Soccer had always done a terrible job at development. They've done an awful job on the boys side. Sucking all the "joy" out of the game. Terrible they've gotten involved on girls side. Very sad.

I hear they are hosting Celebrity Rehab with Abby wamback, hope solo and Tanya Harding at practices. Authographs $25 plus photo $150.

Tanya Harding and Ronald McDonald will lead them onto the field before each Beaverton cup game.

We've seen the decline over the last 20 years in women's soccer when other Football countries began to allow women to play what the deemed a Men's only sport. The world and other countries love soccer/football like a religion, USA loves NFL, MLB, NBA, NASCAR, College Football, College Basketball and NHL. The sport of Soccer is a non-starter for nearly 99% of the American Sports Fan. Women's soccer in college doesn't even draw flys to attend. Pro women's soccer in the US is a travesty subsidized by US Soccer.

Good ol' Title 9....If the boys get it than the girls get it... ;)
