To get to the top levels of any sport requires lots of work & sacrifice but the reward is becoming the best you can be.

Everyone can agree that US Soccer has done a bad job with the mens side but hopefully they won't screw up the formula that has been so successful for women/girls. They are already meddling and thats a bad sign.
The DA program has weakened the men's side to the point that we are a joke. Countries the size of camas are better the the US men's team.
Encroaching on girls soccer is sad. They likely will bring the quality down. They don't understand anything about developing young girls. Very sad.
US Soccer had always done a terrible job at development. They've done an awful job on the boys side. Sucking all the "joy" out of the game. Terrible they've gotten involved on girls side. Very sad.

So imagine your neighbor hired a contractor to remodel their kitchen and they do a terrible job. Then you hire them to remodel yours. Great idea?

How about a little optimism? Maybe they won't do as bad a job with the girls side. It's possible!

In 2-3 years we will see a severe decline in the women's national team and everyone will wonder if it was a good idea to try to bring government style organization to the girls side. The DA has been terrible for the men's side, but it does make a huge profit so that is good. USMNT soccer is awful to watch.

However, unregulated monopolies (particularly for-profit ones) - what the Timbers appear to be driving for in Oregon - are bad for quality/customers.

Our model has always been HS soccer & club Soccer competition.
If the women had to to walk into the same soccer world as men, they would suck also.
Comparing the challenges our men's team faces vs the women's is a laughable narrative.
Try another angle.
