Originally posted by Unregistered View PostSo, it's documented that boys in Oregon have much deeper and established talent pool than the girls, based on Regional and National titles, MLS top draft picks, USYNT & USMNT, European pros and collegiate all americans. It's actually not a contest.
Even with that cache in their pocket the Timbers DA is horrible for boys and it's fully subsidized it's also a consolidation of Oregon's best talent from the HS ages.
So, let's speculate on what type of squad will be on display at CU, FC PDX & Thorns DA from a talent starved state like Oregon for these slim pickings.
We hold ourselves back and don't even give the girls a chance to succeed on the field espousing the doctrine of pay(a lot) to play.
The CU and FC PDX teams for the most parts do no worse than the Portland Timbers from a national perspective.
There is really no money on the girl's side anyways so what is the point. The point is to go to college. Based on the number of boy's who make it, that should also be a priority for the boy's side.
Based on your argument, I would suggest you at least finish your GED.

Right so why is this even a discussion? You hit a point where if you want to have fun, you play rec. End of discussion.

CU and FC PDX are just 2 local clubs playing in a US Club soccer league. The Portland Timbers field a fully funded professional DA Academy competing against other fully funded professional DA's and play against the very top shelf of this country's Club Soccer elite.
How two local girls clubs compete vs other low level clubs in the US Club league is not considered a national perspective, it's considered the bottom feeders of that league in head to head play.
The bottom line is girls will go to college from Oregon regardless of league affiliation. So what's the point of signing up for a league where you match up with other horrible teams for friendly games in New Jersey? The only class you have successful completed is Insanity 101.

Pick the one that suits your dd. Regardless of the path, it's really up to her.
What path a club chooses is not your choice it's the club's. You can go along with a club choice and stay at your local club if you don't like what their doing you can leave to another local club.
DA is not to confused with our traditional non-profit club soccer choices. Two different animals.

Girls have no search results, boys have quite a few.

Since you don't know what it is and have some strange fixation with local non-starter clubs (GPS, Eastside, CU & FC Pdx) below is a quick refresher:
The Girls' Development Academy is part of U.S. Soccer's global leadership position in women's soccer and connects with its long-term plan to improve player and coach development. The mission of the program is to provide education, resources and support to directly impact the everyday environment for clubs to develop world-class female players.
Creating the Girls' Development Academy provides the elite female player with an improved player development model in which players can focus solely on training with the appropriate number and level of games. This model focuses on the developing the individual player within the professional environment, which allows for additional training sessions per season to enhance player development.
What is the Development Academy?
U.S. Soccer started the Development Academy Program to improve long-term player and coach development. After studying player development models domestically and internationally, U.S. Soccer collaborated with the most elite soccer clubs across the nation to create a program to provide the proper environment by emphasizing quality training and limited meaningful competition.
Why is U.S. Soccer creating a Girls' Development Academy?
They aim to provide a player centered program that is focused on the development of the individual without bias, distractions, self-interests and financial gains that compromise the optimal everyday environment. They also believe this is needed so the USA can continue to set the standard for world-class players.
This is the program you refer to as one designed for bafoons & is horrible in nature.
Why so upset about the Girls DA? Didn't they consult with your local club? Says they did this in consultation with the most elite clubs in the USA.

The DA program has weakened the men's side to the point that we are a joke. Countries the size of camas are better the the US men's team.
Encroaching on girls soccer is sad. They likely will bring the quality down. They don't understand anything about developing young girls. Very sad.

This is talking-soccer oregon, why is it we don't focus on the realities in our area? within the context of a nation as a juxtaposition example, in doing this it helps frame the discussion vs broad views that have little relevance to the state of things in Oregon.
I'm not even talking about the DA, just the simple fact that Oregon produces much higher caliber boys than girls is not an argument, it's a fact. Going to play in college for a girl is not a measure of the quality of the player it's more a response to the demand of colleges needing girls to fill spots.
Which begs the question why do we have a subsidized DA for girls + 2 local clubs struggling mightily to compete at a level close to DA when our documented talent pool doesn't give us a fighting chance. All the girls spread across 3 entities.
Why as parents must we suffer these fools (clubs).

It is sad. It nobody is forcing the kids to do it. Hopefully they don't dampen the love to the point they make the kids bitter like the USMNT players are.

To your point

That's more fans at one game/ which is greater than all the attendance nationwide for a an entire season in women's college soccer.
