Yep, and several of them are quaking in their boots. The parents of the girl who went from being an occasional starter on our TA team to academy are already contacting our team manager asking about tryouts and how to get back on the team.

Misguided to value high school sports. Not important.

My kid has NO interest in high school soccer. Believe it or not these kids are out there. They want high level Soccer and only Soccer. To each his own!

Or basketball or track or prom or football games! It's all stupid. School pride is dumb. Having people watch you play is silly. So stop using that as a reason.

Right. School is dumb too. And family. And church. And friends. Only soccer matters.

Wrong! you can't get better at soccer screwing around in basketball or going to school dances.

My kid has NO interest in her high school experience. She told me going to Homecoming, Prom, football games, and other social activities is stupid. She only wants to play a high level of soccer and doesn't care about the social aspect of her high school experience. In fact, she told me her only friends are her teammates, so giving up the fun stuff and being a kid is worth it cause YOLO. Living for soccer the final years of her youth is good preparation for transitioning into college ball where I will give up the first four years of adulthood before settling down and getting married and having kids. She'll then have kids and they will do GDA too. Legacy.

How many parents know their kid wants to play high school soccer but insist they do GDA because of recruiting exposure? If your kid is a standout, they will be recruited without GDA. If you're a parent pushing your kid into GDA knowing they want to enjoy their high school experience, LET THEM ENJOY HS.

Let the ones that only want soccer do GDA. There are quite a few only soccer girls out there and that is what it will take to be the best soccer player.

The multisport/activity and academics first girls can do Ecnl or club travel team. There's no reason to bash or argue. It's good that our DDs have 3 different good options. No path is right or wrong, just different.

Nice to see respectful dialogue. Agree that no path is right, just different!

In chasing the dream, parents often lose sight of the fact that their daughter's soccer & academic abilities and drives will determine what level college and how far they go. It really doesn't matter which specific team or club they play for and matters even less which league they play in. Don't forget that Oregon soccer girls got more & better soccer placement in college BEFORE all this "elite" league arms race.

Not true but you can believe whatever you want if it makes you feel better about being a lemming.

Of all the alternative facts presented on this nut bin of a forum.

Numbers don't lie and more girls got to college to play soccer prior to the formation of CU and FC joined them in the ECNL.

It's real simple consolidating into 2 clubs from 3+ clubs and with so many riding the bench at the 2 clubs coaches didn't get a chance to see girls who in the past would of found a fit.

So us your data. Mine says there are more going to college now than before from the ECNL clubs (Crossfire, THUSC, FCP). Where the HUGE drop off has been is at the Alliance clubs.
