These are fun trips. Vegas would be especially fun. If you can afford these trip for the kids at this age, why not? Who cares if they are in a low bracket. In fact I argue that is a lot more fun.

As an earlier poster said no one really cares. Their lives, their kids, their choices. The bragging and posturing, both in person and on social media, is tiresome already. We will be impressed when you win academy games. Until then be quiet and humble.

ECNL parents get bitter because some top players chose Thorns over ECNL so the ECNL teams are not as strong. It's time for FC Portland and CU to stop griping and get better coaches and better development plans to execute.

Play better teams & tournaments during the year to earn better seeding. Don't think they wanted better seeding. Don't blame them for wanting wins. Winning is fun for the players and the parents love it. Wish my kids' teams won more.

There's a girl on the younger thorns team who had been rostered on an ECNL team. She was a pine rider and mom was team manager. She probably would have made the ECNL team. Hard to cut the manager's kid. She is now a pine rider on thorns academy.

Another sad story. I've seen way more sad stories than success stories. Hope it was her choice and not that her childhood is being gambled away by overzealous parents.
