Westside takes a free kick into the box, #11 (wst) gets a head on it from around 12 yards and sends it to #8 (wst) who is clearly offside standing on the 6 yard line. #8 (wst) then kicks it in and is immediately called offside by the AR. Not much a protest from the Westside players involved and absolutely no objection to the call from the Westside coach who can be seen in the corner of the video. All players from both teams get set up for a goal kick and then the referee walks over to tell the AR that he will give him a portion of his payout if Westside were to win. The goal is given and the game is over!

No dog in the fight. But it's pretty unclear who headed the free kick (attacker or defender) from the video. Best guess the AR is in the best position to determine who headed perhps they saw it come of the defending team? Which explains why it was allowed. Otherwise it is a text book offside call if it came directly off the head of the attacker.

A little hard to tell from that angle. (And the bit about the bribe is over the top).

CFC still had a chance to equalize, winning a corner at the end of the match that they failed to convert.

Just think of it as a small measure of retribution for the 08 quarterfinal match the prior weekend. (CFC won 4-3, scoring TWICE from the penalty spot). Since Capital got a state cup title out of it, it's a good trade for CFC. :)

Don't know about State Cup, but they had a Black team in the top division in fall league (came in second), and a Blue team in the second division.

Updx has a couple starters out which can drastically change the make up of a team. Not sure either updx or fcp has enough firepower anyway to make much a of a run- easily the weakest pool of the 4...crows will beat updx blue for sure and I can’t see how they won’t beat rvt based on the score lines so far in that pool. Adf playing 3 road games is interesting- do they not have their own “home fields” or has the circus been kicked out of town?

Still not sure why the conversation to overturn the offsides call even happens? Looks like the center ref is in agreement with the offsides call- does a parent/player/coach from westside get them to think the header came off a defender or something?

The AR in question was on the coaches' side of the field, away from the spectators. And at the prison yard, the spectator benchers are all in/around the center line, not close to the two penalty areas. The WT parents who used to get into it with refs back in the day are all gone; we have a very chill sideline these days. (Plus it's U16, so many players drive themselves!)

Looked like the ref saw the flag, disagreed but didn't indicate either way, consulted with the AR, and then overruled and awarded the goal. If it came off the defender, that would be a reason why.

Unfortunately, mycujoo.tv's app/website is crap, and excludes lots of features that most video playback apps have (including slowmo and one-frame advance/rewind). A bit hard to tell at full speed, and from the angle in question.
