First half of this was fairly defensive. WT was bit sloppy in possession, and didn't create much danger. ETFC got the half's only goal about ten minutes in. Other than that, both defenses held. 1-0 to the defending state champs at the break.

Second half, both sides apparently decided that defense was no longer necessary. WT gave up one goal on a left-side counter, and then got beaten again a few minutes later. 3-0 to Eugene. Then ETFC brought some shambolic defense of their own, and AG and BJ each got one back for Westside. The teams continued to trade chances, and with about ten or fifteen left, ETFC managed to break through the Westside lines and beat the keeper at the near post. But WT then kicked off, got the ball just outside the area, and got fouled. MdlCH then buried the free kick in the top corner. ETFC tried to kill off the game for the last five-ten minutes (BD spent that much time yelling at his team to "take it to the corner"). They didn't succeed in denying WT a few more chances, but they did succeed in keeping them out of their net. Final 4-3 to Yoogene.

vs the Crows today--a better, though not complete, defensive performance, but no goals for either side, leading to 0-0 draw. It was a physical game with quite a few fouls (and a few bookings for both teams), but no misbehavior on any of the sidelines. Cuervos best chance was was when they hit the crossbar in the first half; Westside's best chances were a free kick that also hit the bar and went over, and a breakaway goal that was called offside.

The opfc coach is managing minutes and throttling the boys back on unimportant games. It's a European technique like in the Premier league. The coach is that good. The boys don't take some of these games seriously so they are only going 1/2 effort most of the time but will "drop the hammer!" when the big games come. It's a well orchestrated trap. You lull the opponents into thinking they are getting the best of you and lure them down the path, then BOOM! When it counts they will hit the afterburners and goals will start dropping hard and fast. The parents on the other team will be blindsided.

Not even a little bit true. Every team has players that rotate, or maybe get more playing time. There is no magic on switch that is flipped on. No load management. It is just soccer and kids folks. Appreciate the beauty that is competition and leave it at that. I agree with all of the "leave us alone, and get a life comments" on here. These are young men who play for their teammates, not their parents. Once you accept that, you can enjoy the game. We (parent's) do not (and should not) factor into the equation at all. This website (while a guilty pleasure at times) really can (and should) make you sick to your stomach. Wash your hands, love your son's enough to shut your mouth and let them grow up, and remember it is not about you.

Probably. USYS is OYSA parent Corp. Protect the players and everyone else and maybe there could be eventual lawsuits if they don’t. USYS just cancelled National League games at Vegas Players. College campuses across the country are cancelling all classes and many even emptying the forms and sending the students home. Large gatherings and travel being cancelled right and left.

As of now the games aren't being cancelled. As a team manager I received a confirmation email from OYSA regarding team registration for state cup and that the teams would be seeded this week. We shall see.....
