Westside vs UPDX

What type of coaching experience do you have that qualifies you, or anyone, to judge any of these kids? “Blonde Beaver” has accumulated 16 total years of coaching after her playing career. Coaching club at PCU, CFC, then moving to High School and finally moved into coaching at the college level. Finishing coaching only 3 years ago. Being around the game my entire life, parents like you are the problem. Talking about people, and kids, to build yourself up is only serving to make you look ridiculous.
None of us has any room to place kids or parents in a specific bucket of where they belong. You have zero clue about how these kids are working and developing to better their game. I find it sad that you feel you are entitled to behave this way.. especially anonymous on a forum where you can hide behind your small vision of a game that we all supposedly love to watch and play. Get a life and find a way to be more tolerant.. quit being a hater. It only hurts the game and likely your child who I presume playa the game for the LOVE of it.

What I do know is our head coach has taken time to work with and develop my son, and the other kids We moved so that my son could benefit by being pushed beyond what his former club could provide at the time. He is forced to compete for his spot day after day with the “oversized” PDX team as you describe. We saw it as a benefit. We had a great experience at CFC. After training with the TA and now playing ODP, my son has grown in his game.

Nicknames and put downs that out parents and kids on here are lame. Thanks United mom, now we know we have you and a board member on here. I don’t think either of you are innocent though. Lots of nasty posts from United about other teams, players and kids. It’s all pretty lame. Now that I know who you are, your son is the one in Phoenix that was trying to recruit a few Crossfire players. Heard Cony put his foot down about recruiting through ODP. Did the United coach ask your son to do that? Does United give discounts if you bring other kids to the club? Your son is good and I’m glad your having a good experience at a new club this year.

Recruiting?
I love how adults decide that a 14 year old kid has anything to do with recruiting players, and that you could actually say that points to your general lack of understanding. He likes the guys he plays with and wants to surround himself with players who build each other up. Thats who he is. He genuinely likes several guys on ODP, regardless of who they play for.. and for that matter, who their parents are in this case. In fact, he wants others to try out for ODP that will make the team better. He is unselfish by nature, you should learn from his example.
I don’t know why you are so angry.. or why you insist on trying to incite people, but the minute you start talking about my kid this way, you have now messed with the wrong person.
If you want to continue to trash people, my hope is that at some point you realize.. the game our kids are playing is not about you. Quit making this forum about bashing people and their kids. Grow up and move on. No one wants you here. Also, maybe GROW A SET and admit who you are. My guess is you won’t due to your weak nature and lack of confidence.

Recap of WT vs UPDX today at PCC.
Was a gorgeous day for soccer, unlike last weekend's miserable weather at Marshall. Unfortunately, WT wasn't at their sharpest, frequently turning the ball over and getting beaten to 50/50 balls, particularly in the first half (they looked better in the second). Both defenses put in stellar performances. Game's only goal came after a midfield turnover in the first half, a shot from just outside the box that beat the keeper.
Second half, the game got a bit chippy and physical, and the foul count went up, and a few yellow cards were shown, but nothing too out of line.
Since sideline personalities seem to have become a topic of discussion--may of us WT old-timers were happy to see ex-Westside player RH and his family; RH had an effective shift for the team in the black shirts. Only complaint about the UPDX sideline was that without a minute left in the match, and the team pressing for an equalizer, someone either blew a whistle, or simulated a ref's whistle with their mouth, as though the match was over, leading to a turnover. Don't know who it was. Probably didn't matter anyway, but that was more than a bit bush league. Didn't notice the parent being discussed upthread at the game (though didn't look); there weren't any arguments between the two parent groups, who kept to their own halves.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThank you for this. Also, well said. Oh, and for what it is worth...I now know who they were referencing and would like to share a story. I sat by you at a game a couple of years ago and we chatted about soccer, the teams, the kids. You were insightful, sweet, pleasant and funny. Do not worry about these impotent cowards, who hide behind anonymity, and are truly desperate to feel better about themselves and their son's. UPDX has a good team, and your Son is such a major reason for that.
