Originally posted by Unregistered View PostOh no, one of the weaker sides in OYSA Premier beat United. Oh wait, United had to drive down to Medford and play a game on Saturday. Got home around 900 pm at night after 9 plus hours in the car, and then play Westside at 800 am the next morning (good old TA scheduling) and then play a 3rd game on Tuesday night. Oh no, the sky is falling. Nope, these are 14 year old kids who dropped a game against other 14 year old kids. Grow up people.

And I'm certain OPFC will be fine--they're still one of the favorites for state cup. So I'm surprised that someone here gets so pissy every time someone mentions "silver bracket".

UNITED PDX controlled possession most of the game probably 70% to 30%, but FCPDX had a good back line and our boys missed several chances. It is bad to see at this age the boys are not time to play out of the back, FCPDX’s strategy was to have the goalkeeper the ball past midfield to their forward. This worked on a few occasions, but generally we this worked on a few occasions, but generally won the ball in the middle of the field in those possessed most of the game won the ball in the middle of the field and possessed most of the game. We just were having a hard time finishing and they had a good finisher who showed up. The game really could have gone either way with just a few of our chances going in

If ADF beats OPFC, they finish in first outright with 24 points.
If they tie OPFC, they finish with 22 points, and only ETFC or CFC can possibly tie them (assuming either team wins out; since they play each other only one of them can do so); ADF holds tiebreaker against both teams, so ADF also wins winter league in that situation.
If they lose to OPFC, things get interesting. If either ETFC or CFC win out (again, not both), then the team from the valley will finish first. Barring that, either Westside or OPFC could tie them. ADF would own the tiebreaker against Westside, but lose the tiebreaker against OPFC.
Most interesting is if both ETFC and CFC drop points, and Westside and OPFC both win out, creating a 3-way at the top. Westside owns the tiebreaker against OPFC, so head-to-head would not be used. Second tiebreaker is victories--each team would have six in this situation. Next tiebreaker is goal differential--currently ADF leads with +10, Westside is +2, and OPFC is -1; but WT and OPFC both have four games remaining (which we are assuming will all be victories) to add to their total. If goal differential doesn't break the tie, goals against is the last criteria--OPFC has conceded 8, Westside 9, and the F-Bombs 12.
FC, Crows, UPDX, and RVT are all out of the title picture.
Bottom line: Oregon Premier needs to beat ADF on March 8, or it's over.
Other key games involving the above teams remaining:
Eugene at Westside, 3/7
CFC at Eugene, 3/8
OPFC at CFC, 3/14
OPFC at Eugene, 3/15
