05 Timbers Academy. Beat Ballistic this morning. GM had a hat trick, one wonders if grandpa made the trip and terrorized the locals. Also beat the Quakes on Saturday.

Good to see them doing better after a bit of a shaky start.

I am not a fan of TA or their practices, but I am a fan of Oregon soccer and our kids that play the game so....I say congrats TA. Nice job.

No change really- 05 TA is still a joke That is sub .500 with 2 “bio banded” 04’s and a couple of 06’s that are your most talented players

I'm sure that for every player on the 05 TA, there will be at least one person in this forum who is aghast that the TA would even consider that player. Seeing as I haven't seen GM play for three years (he was quite good at U12, and it's entirely possible that puberty was kind to him), I can't comment as to whether or not he ought to be in TA as a U15, or if there is someone in OYSA who ought to have his spot instead. (Even if I did have an informed opinion on that subject, I would keep it to myself, actually).

But i was a bit surprised to see him go ballistic on Ballistic, assuming the game report is correct (USSDA game reports, sometimes, are laughably wrong); he hasn't been featured much by the Timbers in the past couple of years. If he is now making the most of an opportunity, good for him.

In two weekends, NWNL games finally start for the 05s. (Actually they started for the WA teams earlier this month, as Washington doesn't do boys HS soccer in the fall, but Oregon and Idaho teams were not available in November).

Friday: WT vs Boise Timbers, CFC vs Timbers North (from Coeur d'Alene), ETFC vs Seattle United, OPFC vs WPFC, and UPDX vs Washington Rush.

Saturday: CFC vs Boise, ETFC vs Timbers North, OPFC vs SU, UPDX vs WPFC, and Westside vs Rush

Sunday: Boise vs Eugene, SU vs UPDX, North vs OPFC, Westside vs WPFC, and Rush vs CFC.

None of the Oregon teams are playing against each other, and I believe that WFPC and SU are sending their B teams (the A teams are in BECNL), but finally--some games that mean something.

The training at Thunderdome is so good, no need to do ODP or NWNL or other rec leagues.
