Only wish it were made up. If people around here get offended that a guest player was used in a summer tournament, than saying "get a grip" about this seems to be a wild loss of perspective.

3) One particular coach, while technically quite good at teaching the game, also manages to annoy parents like crazy. (Cony has noticed, finally, which is one reason John Bain is now coaching the 08s. That age group has so far resisted the wide-scale poaching that impacted the 05s, 06s, and 07s--and even has poached a few from FC recently, including one very talented player who FC had poached the year prior).

I thought the attitude at Westside has always been "don't let the door hit you on the way out." Are you saying that they have started to actively recruit kids who have left the program?

I have no idea if the player was recruited back, or simply decided to return. Some people prefer the environment at WT, others at FC, others at other clubs.

04 UPDX coach is also a 04 ODP coach who picked his own players for the pool team in regional camp. He has been doing this for years when others were better.
Pretty freaking sad if you ask me.

Then provide some analysis instead of trolling all day long. After all the talk of the DA teams being miles better than the non-DA teams (chatter for the last 3 years or so), I'm not convinced the gap is as wide as the proclamations have been.

Or, just slide into HS 'bootball' season where things are quite a bit different than the style of soccer some teams have been trying to teach the last few years.

Listen, the top 3 DA teams from the last few years (westside, opfc and FC pdx) were miles ahead of the oysa teams before this summer. TA castoffs have made ADF and updx better, TA additions from westside and FC have made those 2 teams weaker but opfc and Washington timbers in my opinion Have been the class of this age group Had all the 05’s played on age and with their home clubs. I am not from either but believe that. Not sure how opfc would look if they had a player in ly (on TA) who was one of 3 invites to the us regional camp, westside (jb) and ADF (ye) would of had the others. Washington would of had what some considered the best in tm

Prediction guy here, with some thoughts on this. No scores, because I haven't seen quite a few of these teams, but here's how I see it:

Group stage:

ADF over the Crows. (Will the various Cuervos players who got sent off in the Beaverton Cup final be available for this? Inquiring minds want to know).
Navy over Cascade Premier (WA)
ETFC over Salmon Creek
OPFC over CFC.

ADF over Navy
Crows over Cascade
Crows over Navy
ADF over Cascade

Capital over Salmon Creek
OPFC over ETFC
OPFC over Salmon Creek
ETFC over Capital.

That would mean ADF vs Eugene in one semi, OPFC vs Cuervos in the other. While my picks to reach the final are the F-Bombs and OPFC, either of those matches could go either way--ETFC are the defending state champs, and IIRC beat ADF in the final; and OPFC hasn't really faced a team like Cuervos in a while. (Like CFC, but better--unless they lose their sh1t, in which case a whole bunch of 'em might get sent off, but they might break an ankle or two on the way off the pitch).

Westside, how can you not notice that the the things you are okay with and rationalize away (TA players guesting and being featured for your team in crappy, summer tournaments) are the things that others find upsetting and disgusting. While the things Westside find upsetting (04 odp coach "allegedly" promised spots on regional team in exchange for leaving Westside) others find as being ludacris. I mean, the lengths and depth Westside fo to towards painting themselves in the best light is absurd. The reality is that people change clubs. The fact that you and Westside are so incapable and unwilling to aceept this is pathetic, and explains why you fabricate tales to excuse defectors.

Sometimes the best at 11 is not the best at 14. WashT were arguably the best in 2017-2018. They were top-3 last year, especially with GS on their roster. They weren't anywhere close in 2016-2017 before the TA rapture deprived Copa, Navy, and ADF of a hella lottta talent.

Unfortunately for WashTs 05s, this season they're looking at a lot of long car rides, only to get stomped on.

GS, TM, JB, RF are all nothing more than early growers and physically advanced at an early age. TA had no choice but to add some athletic talent to their mix since they were getting their azz kicked technically and physically almost every weekend. GS used toe punches and pure straight line speed to score and has almost no technical soccer talent which will last maybe one more year. RF looked very pedestrian for westside this summer and has not grown since the time he was on FC. Still had a high work rate but was very unimpressive and will continue to fall by the wayside. We all know what has become of TM....not motivated or driven, was challenged physically finally and quit and has no heart.
