Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThanks, you are a complete moron and actually have very little clue how a “productive” youth academy works aparantly. A truly dedicated and professional program forgoes corporate profit and greed and instead is focused on its approach and has ethics and morals. It does not allow itself to be compromised by a wealthy father buying a roster spot for his “unqualified” son and buddies. I am not taking a shot at dad or especially son, but rather the Timbers brass who allowed this to occur and thus created the situation we now have. If development is truly the focus, which it should be with 12-13 year olds, they are failing miserably. If done correctly every player on that roster would be of high enough quality that playing them would not lead to such a huge fall off. TA scrapped that development to search for results (wins) and could not even do that. Beating rush, snohomish, eastside, etc means nothing in the long run. Get over yourself and be honest and accountable and then maybe just maybe you will see the glaring issues with the current state of TA
It's the Timbers product, not yours. Their methods are their own, as our their results.
But in case you are worried since they hired you to run the Academy and the brass is dissatisfied with your results. Please stay off the forum and get back to work.

Do you honestly think your opinion is being considered when you say things like "sounds like your DS got cut and you can't deal with it?" Are you really happy with this model of TA? If the answer is yes, than why? TA should be better than this. TA should be able to be the designation for the best players of any age group. It should not even be close. Not only should the clubs want their kids to end up there, but the parents and kids should want to end up there. Yet, that is not the case. Again, why is that? I fully expect you or some other pro TA person to retort with a criticism of my son, or other non TA kids, but ask yourself this question. Do you support TA as it is, only because your Son plays on TA? I am willing to bet that is the case. Also, if you really support TA as it is right now, why wouldn't you want it to have the top players? That would make the team stronger. Top to bottom the roster would be loaded with the best, and the competition would make everybody better.
I am very happy with where my Son is at in regards to soccer. I am also very happy with where he is at as a human. He is quite good and accomplished in soccer, and he is universally considered a great kid. He knows a lot of the 05 TA kids, and is friends with them. I happen to think the majority of the kids are good kids and I want them to be successful. In fact, I want TA to be successful as that is our home team, and the academy should be the highest level option. However, that is not the case...hopefully it will be in the near future.

People like you reply with "too bad your snowflake got cut!" or "Your kid is not good enough to play TA!" It is like a grade school argument..."I know you are but what am I?"

Please disclose to all the readers what 'level' in Oregon is higher than the Timbers DA for youth in Oregon? I'm sorry, you tried to write all this emotional stuff and then you cap it off with pure insanity and stupidity in your closing sentence. Hard to take anything you say seriously.

Do not delude yourself into thinking that TA, as it stands now is any better than Oregon DA. Both clubs play DA. TA plays In Washington and loses more than they win. In fact, with the turnover of coaching (after the weird year they had last year with a Brazillian in exile) they are probably behind where they should be. Say differently, and it changes nothing. (Although I am cracking up at the mental image of you holding your breath and turning blue as you throw a child like tantrum because somebody told you you are wrong.

Seriously, you figured this out all by yourself?
Because of this, all local clubs that attached a moniker of DA to the neighborhood club are to be considered the same ilk as the pro club DA.
This also convinced you that all the local teams including the pro DA arent very good.
Tell us more with your level head. You're nailing it, don't stop.

You keep saying Pro DA? Tell me, what exactly about US Soccer DA is pro? Because of the patch? Please...same kids, same game. Since you are convinced that TA is so superior do you think they could be a starting 11 of Oregon DA kids pulled from each club? I guarantee you the answer is no. Wake up sunshine.

Sure, Billups had to fund the U13 and U14 age groups, because...Why would the Timbers? They never had U13 or U14 DA prior to last year and the only reason they did is because they got in bed with Billups. Spin it any way you want A-hole. You keep saying Pro DA? So they play only against the other professional, I mean MLS academies?!? Good for them! If our professional, I mean MLS team has that, then why do they have a USDA team, that plays in the USDA west Washington league, and is the same as Westside, or FCP, or Crossfire or Washington and Salem? I mean, seems like a step down for a Professional, I mean MLS team with a youth development academy playing other Professional, I mean MLS academy teams?
