And spare us the "if only LeBron played soccer" nonsense.
That's not what he meant Richard, and you know it. He is referring to the kids who play another sport (or 2) and are not willing (nor should they be) to commit to just one sport at 12-13 years of age. Oregon DA has multiple kids like that.

DA doesn't prevent participating in other sports. The suggestion was that some Seattle clubs have strong B teams because kids were refusing DA

Fat fingered the phone and didn't finish my comment.

The suggestion was that some Seattle clubs have strong B teams because kids were refusing to play for the DA, and that in some cases the non-DA B team could beat the DA A team.

        This is bullshizzle.

The teams from Seattle and SoCal whose B squads managed to beat updx and Westside, have A teams that would slaughter any Oregon 05 team, including Timbers Academy. None of the Seattle teams I am aware of have a stronger non- DA side. California, I don't know.

Westside is still awesome at the older aged boys compared to rest of the diluted state (post timbers Nat/Big DA).

Any club claiming relevance prior to the HS ages for boys is not being realistic since all of the top shelf players have moved 'up' to the Timbers DA. Please don't slide into the delusional and comical thinking displayed by the local CU girls who claim relevance (LOL) in the 'nation' after all of their leagues best clubs opted out for the Girls DA.

The clubs that take the hardest hits from the Timbers DA selections (gutting) at the kiddie ages should not be compared to their pre Timbers little DA iterations.

On top of that with so many clubs operating a business model that is forced to cover inflated overhead for staffing, the dilution and mediocrity will witness today is the new normal until parents decide enough is enough of this nonsense.

If you had the skill position guys in American football, for example, playing and training for soccer you would se an immediate rise in the USA results
Is this sarcasm? If not, you're precisely what's wrong with Oregon soccer. Thinking like this keeps us in the dark ages.

Then say "dick". It's a man's name, and the website won't bleep it.

There's enough Brits in Oregon soccer I was actually wondering if it might have been Cockney rhyming slang for excrement.

Nobody says they except teams that lose. You should crochet that into throw pillows and set up a table to sell them at the soccer fields.

Sorry I’m laughing at that mental picture...give me a minute.
Set up a card table in the parking lot at practice and sell them to fellow parents coming and going. You could make a mint.

Timbers DA does 100%- if you miss practice or games because of other sports like basketball or lacrosse/baseball during the soccer “offseason” you lose playing time and or a spot on the roster regardless of ability. I know because I directly asked the question to the coaches last year before the u-13 and 14 teams were even completely formed. Because of that I had to have the hard conversation with my son and we declined a roster spot because, even though it probably is the best long term opportunity for development in soccer in our market. 12 years old is way too young to have an individual only committ to playing one sport and let’s be honest, the reality of identifying who is and who is not going to have the ability to even sniff the chance at being a pro does not surface at this early age...

Well I guess your theory was blown out of the water- we will find out how good a non DA team is in about an hour because the Seattle United Copa team (theoretically their B team based on your logic) is in the finals of the crossfire challenge- not their DA team who lost in the semi’s

Really all that matters is FC beat SD Surf, which yesterday beat Westside, ergo, FC > Westside.

Surf DA was the second best team, IMHO, at Oceanside DA event last November. Clearly this wasn't their DA team.

Pretty sure this wasnt their DA team. Neither team looked that good today. SD Surf got a goal in the 20th minute and then FCP equalized with about two minutes left in the game. A 10 minute overtime produced nothing else and so it went to Pk's. FCp won on penality kicks 3-1 (4th & 5th in the penalty kick line up for FC didn't even need to take shots) FC's keeper was a beast!

                              Important to have goals.

Yeah, he's pretty good and will certainly keep them in a number of games this year. Good luck this afternoon.
