Now just to be clear: I don't even know the player you're talking about. When I said "you people" I was very specifically referring to youth soccer parents and coaches who couldn't identify talent if their lives depended on it. They are in the majority here.

If "you people" is such a loaded phrase that you have to stop listening and make accusations of Nazism, then I apologize for using it. I also submit that you need to calm the eff down.
I get it, you did it mean "you people" in racially derogatory way; however, you clearly did mean it in a derogatory way. Of course none of us know who we are addressing on here, but it would be a good practice not to attempt to disparage any group of people. You do do not help your cause by Indicating "any people" other than your self are not capable of identifying talent. Especially considering if you have never seen the player in question. It is obvious you do have some sort of agenda, or you would not be issuing challenging statements. Now, can we get back to talking about the HMS Titanic, otherwise known as FCP. Thank you.

Obviously, Rutger Hauer was being a racist pig when he said this:

The boat that sunk in the North Atlantic was the RMS (Royal Mail Steamer) Titanic, thankyouverymuch.

Who the hell do you think you are to disparage others because they DARE to prefer a different type of player than your cookie cutter, Lilly white, slow footed, small in stature, amazingly technical little snow flake. Keep my and my family's name out of your mouth Adolf.
Hilarious- yet so far off base your attempt at being sarcastic went too far

Actually, I think that person was totally appropriate to call out the tool. Far too often on here (read all the time) somebody (and I believe it is only a couple honks) come on here and belittle others for their opinion. Get over yourself! Stop being such a douche. Disagree, move on. Stop trying to intimidate everybody that youyour opinion matters more than theirs. And more importantly, focus on your child. I strongly suspect your kid is miserable and finds you to be an insufferable, overbearing ass.

Or, alternatively, it could be that people who don't know what they're talking about have carved out way too much space for their "opinion". Those poeple - and this is just a thought - actively make soccer here worse, and often for their own benefit.

The funny thing is, nobody knows who they are talking too, or about.

Let me guess... guy who’s 05 is exempt for the second year in a row from having to attend an open tryout so he won’t be exposed? Or leader of the TA bio-banding bandwagon?

So how many poor slobs came out and donated $125 to TA last night?

A dumb question about the last month or so of DA:

The DA calendar, of course, doesn't align quite precisely with the local club calendar. 05 tryouts for the Timbers Academy are last night and tonight, and for all other OYSA clubs (including those with DAs) are tomorrow and Thursday night. The OYSA season ended this past weekend with State Cup, and the new "season" starts after tryouts. The DA season, on the other hand, continues until June, and doesn't officially start until August (July being an unofficial "dead month", where players are supposed to rest up, and in reality are off doing summer tournaments all over the place).

DA tryouts, however, are generally the same night as OYSA tryouts--as the seven clubs involved all basically put their A team in DA and their B team (and lower) in OYSA. Some may delay picking the DA pool until summer (FC did that last year, I believe), but there will be some players playing this weekend with clubs/teams who they WON'T be playing with next year.

So, what will happen with players who change clubs? Or who are currently on DA rosters but fail to make the DA team for next year? Will club-changers be subject to delayed rostering? Can someone be rostered to one club for DA purposes and another for OYSA purposes?

                          Comment

Also: a few if these DA teams have been dead men walking for weeks now. The season end should have been this past weekend.

The reality is that this is a competitive process. Kids will and should be cut if there somebody more talented who tries out and accept a place on the team. I know that our boys seem young, but they are teenagers now. This is a part of the maturation process and something that will serve them well life. If you want something, work like hell to earn it.

I know Eastside is a different animal than the rest. For us, the whole team is essentially comprised of short-timers, whether the player is staying with Eastside to play on their State team, moving or trying to move to a different DA team, or returning to play State at the club they were recruited from. It will be a long rest of the season for us.

Good luck and play hard to everyone this week, in whatever you pursue!
