Evans

Steven Evans is the biggest dousch bag I ever encountered. My son an 04 played on his team last year and his blantant disrespect was absolutely ridiculous. He played favorites never coached the kids. We would see him laughing it up with other coaches on the sideline rather than coaching his team that was in the middle of losing. He stopped playing my son who when he joined the team was the highest scoring but eventually he took his confidence down to a zero by how he spoke to him and stopped playing him for no reason other than having favorites. We yanked him off the team before state cup last year and he is now thriving with a 4h team who was oysa champions. Anyone who has a son playing on this mans team I feel deeply sorry for!

Totally disagree on Steve Evans. He has coached our boys at FC this year and I have nothing but good things to say about him. About the only negative thing I would say is that I wish he would push the boys a little harder. He's been a great coach with a great temperment. Never heard him even raise his voice at the boys this year.

I couldn't disagree more with the Marc Evans comments!
He is truely one of the great and well respected coaches that Oregon has seen over the last couple of decades. One of the very few that have a National title to their resume. He had a great coaching career at Eastside and is very good at delivering results. While I will say that he is direct and will definitely raise his voice, it is in a constructive way and most players (good coachable ones anyhow) respond and like playing for him. Just look at what has happened to the '05 Eastside team since he left! They have went from the one of the top four or five teams a couple of years ago to a team that can hardly compete. When he left Eastside many boys split too. Some even followed him to Westside last year. I think his reputation speaks for itself and your poor experience might be more of you or sons personal coaching preference rather than Marc's ability to coach. Remember, not every coaching style is for every player, you need to find the right fit and for MANY boys Marc has been the perfect fit.
Also, calling him a d-bag was totally uncalled for!

I second your post. That was horribly offensive and wrong by the OP. First to get the name wrong and then the content was transparent. The OP obviously doesn’t know much about him if they can’t even remember his name. Mark is proven, tried and true. Sounds like a n upset mommy because her kid wasn’t elevated in the way she wanted.

Mommy?! Seriously you don't know what you're talking about. Marc is such a terrible person it's easy to try and forget his name. Good for you that you like him, I could care less because the reality is he doesn't have his players best interests at heart and his behavior was highly unethical I couldn't care less if they say he has some national championship on his resume it doesn't make him a better person or coach.

The post states I couldn't care less if someone else likes him. It doesn't state I don't care what happened. For us we experienced a different side of him which included verbal and mental abuse not only to my son but to others as well. I am not some butt hurt parent upset my kid didn't get playing time that wasn't the issue with disliking him as a person or as a coach. Never in my life had I witnessed my son cry until after the last game he played for him. Rather than confront him we realized it was just best to part ways. Ultimately, the point is to bring awareness to the fact that this man isn't a suitable coach and has done things which do not represent the club very well and I want other parents to be aware before joining any team he coaches. We can all agree to disagree but it doesn't change the fact of his behavior in the past. Fortunately we have moved on and haven't dealt with anything like what we dealt with in his team but I have every right to speak about how badly my sons experience was.
