Again misinformed. La Roca, PVSC, FC Nova.. 05 teams would eat Oregon’s “little TA”
for brunch. I’m guessing a game against Blitzz FC Blue could pull a tie if little TA got lucky. Snohomish in the WA league is definitely more up “little TAs” their alley. This group of players is in no way competing on a regional level. Come back and pound your chest when you only lose to NorCal teams by a three point spread.

Enjoy the moment, maybe it continues, maybe it just ends by 8th grade. Everyone develops differently.

Understanding the reality the MLS Timbers DA is singular and exclusively the only DA program in Oregon """"""""""AT U15 AND BEYOND """".
The little DA league is for local clubs and the 'real' DA MLS TImbers Youth program are not playing in this defacto OYSA metro Premier/1st division league.

Sorry your local club didn’t clue you in to this simple fact.

Not sure why this truth ‘hurts’ you so much, it’s really weird and actually scary to read you attack reality.
You said I was attacking reality, O said I wasn't attacking anything. Reality is,Timbers is only exclusive beyond U15, before that they are not more elite than Crossfire U13,U14 who also have a DA academy at U15 and beyond.
The point you are trying to make is flawed, I can see what you are trying to say but it's not necessarily true,at least not at the U13 and U14 level. It seems to me that you are drinking the koolaid .
The point that I'm trying to get across,it's an opinion from an outsider,to Oregon, who has been through this longer than you.
No, my kid is not 11 or 12, he is well past that,in fact he just got back from playing in the USSDA Winter Showcase in Florida, so he is not a little All star and also I wouldn't consider the club's that have made him offers "tiny tots". It seems that I stroke a chord but I'm just pointing out the reality, you can argue all you want but then we'd be arguing semantics. I'll say this again. This 05 team will look very different (kids wise) by the time they are U15.

How long? Seriously that's your biggest play? So you want it to be a 'd1ck' measuring contest. I concede to your length, feel better?

Reality is the MLS Timbers have the only DA program in Oregon (for all ages of boys). No argument can change this fact.

A handful of our local clubs playing themselves 4x at 2-3 age groups is actually more resemblant of a year long jamboree, or a charade. (that's called an opinion)

You are entitled to the opinion of your nameless, faceless and unidentifiable kid, he is an all star in your eyes, should of said big all star, my bad. Tiny tots are a description of pre-teens who are lumped together without any evidence to suggest otherwise. Nothing to do with any clubs, sorry for your confusion.

It amazing what child stars of yesteryear look like today, you have a point-captain obvious.

        Next.

"My Timbers DA snowflake is more specialer than your Little DA snowflake!"

          "Is not!"

          "Is too!"

          "Not!"

"Too! Only the Portland Timbers have a full DA program up to U18 and beyond. The rest of them are just neighborhood clubs!"

"So? We're not talking about the U18s or the U23s, which are full of kids from Florida who got cut from someplace better anyway. We're talking about the U13 team, which is about as good as a mid-pack A team from Seattle!"

"Still better than anything in Oregon's Little DA"

"Horsepoo. I bet Washington Timbers would wipe the floor with you? Do you know how many kids from that club told the Timbers no?"

"No they wouldn't. Washington Timbers was a second-rate club in OYSA last year, didn't even make it to the State Cup quarterfinals. And most of the good players from the teams that DID make the semis are playing for US now!"

"Yeah, but they're a bunch of prima donnas. And don't get me started on the Malfoys. What sort of a professional academy team takes bribes from wealthy parents to let kids get on? It's almost as bad as Trump's kid playing for DC United's academy team."

"They still would beat any of the neighborhood clubs, whether the Timbers Alliance clubs or the ex-OPL losers."

"Then how come they won't scrimmage them? Westside is just down the road from the Timber's training facility. They're not even a top three team in little DA. But Cony calls, you say no. Chickens! Bawk, bawk, bawk, barawwwk!"

"Why should we waste our time scrimmaging against neighborhood clubs on age? Does Washington Timbers DA go and scrimmage against Salmon Creek? The point of scrimmage is to play better or equal teams, not to skunk patsies. Which is what you little DA teams all are!"

"Well, MY kid is elite, and played at an Elite Tournament in Florida!"

"My kid is more elite than YOUR kid. He's on a real DA team for once, not a pay-for-play club that has Gatorade on the sideline."

"I know your kid. He stinks. We've got players on our roster than can run circles around him!"

          "Do not."

          "Do TOO!!!!!"

Please continue the petty bickering. It is amusing.

It's pretty clear if you take a big picture view of our 'little local clubs DA league' relationship to the 'real DA Timbers', it looks just like the model of the RTC's feeding OPD/MLS DA.

Since so many clubs reject this model or effort, the Timbers DA supported with US Soccer a different kind of feeder so the naysayers of RTC would instead jump head first into the little 'DA' Love the Dumb Azzzz reference. It fits perfectly.

It's pretty sad the Timbers MLS club funds their program for the elite kids and the locals charge the parents and tell them their paying to potential elites. Messed up.

Not really until u15. The “ little TA” right now is mostly made up of low skill privileged white boys with wealthy or Adidas influential parents, and highly skilled Hispanics from low socioeconomic backgrounds that have actual potential. No real “model”.

Maybe model is too sophisticated a term for the Timbers DA ilk, they found a convenient mechanism that costs them nothing, they don't fleece them like the RTC does, the clubs do that dirty work of charging them monies and it's another platform they can raid to pull potentials up to the big MLS DA. Always a twist, right?

Why do you say that? Because he appeared dominant at U11 and U12? What happened when he moved to full size goals.....That's right, overhyped meets mediocrity. You know this as well, but since he is good friends with your Son you don't say anything. Right? Hahahaha

Too many times our talent identifiers just go with who excelled at u11/u12. The young players are ever changing and re-evaluations are constantly needed, particularly at younger ages. Not sure if it's laziness or a feeling that they made a mistake the last time if they pick a different kid than they picked they time before. Until academies & such start picking the very best players each and every year, the development pyramid crumbles.

Until the one selecting has a competitor down the street they are complacent.

If he’s so legit why are they talking to two other goalies to come over in Spring?

Until you come to grips with the fact these academies are here to find and develop the top few kids per age group and not chase meaningless trophies or wins, you will continue to be disappointed. It's likely there are a few marginally better players not currently in the academy but the top few players are all there by u15. For must of these kids 90%+ of their soccer lives will be spent on the training field and there isn't a better training environment than what the TA offers.

They need a new backup goalie. Someone who is willing to travel but not play in games.
