Me? Nothing. But then again, I am not a player and I don't bother the coach. Now my son is a different story. His coach him that Westside is a place for losers that don't care about development or ethics. Coach was right!

But whose watch list? It's not like such things are routinely published.

There are a few local kids who might be on the radar of the USNT, but the coaches aren't going to publish a list of them.

Not the op, but according to USDA website, it is a big scouting showcase for them and I do agree that it is highly unlikely that any U13's from Oregon would make their radar. with that being said, there is much more exposure at the Western Regional Showcase then at the Mayor's Cup in Vegas.

I'll save you some disappointment by assuring you that US Soccer has to say that. It means nothing. Like someone else already pointed out, this is a formality. This is not a big scouting event. Either is Vegas for this age group. This USDA showcase is taking place because they have received a lot of complaints about teams not having the opportunity to play out of state teams. This is the answer to that call. It is not going to be a fast track to some glorious rise in soccer. It is an opportunity of USDA to make money with the mandatory pay to play rule. It is not what you think it is.

From what I have read, it sounds more like they are catching, not trolling. You and many others keep responding and attempting to justify your club's actions. Get a grip, people don't like your club for a multitude of reasons, and no amount of deflections and distractions will change that.

No reason to give 05 westside any life, the team and club as a whole is now mediocre at best and the parents are rabid fools that have no ability to reason so stop talking about them already.

I would think you really knew what you were talking about, if I didn't know better! This showcase is not an answer to any complaint of people wanting to play out of state competition. USDA regional showcases have been taking place since 2013, although it does make for a nice story to think that US soccer listened to us Oregonians complaints and therefore scheduled a showcase for us. You are however, undoubtedly correct that this is not some fast track to USMNT, but rather a chance to play against some of the best boys & teams in the Western US.
