Hmmmm.... sure seems like you are the mom. I don't know how someone from another team that hates FCP, would be able to speak to the character of one of their players?
    Nice try though!

Maybe the person is trying to speak to the fact that as opposed to the "bouncer," (my name for the other fc fwd) the other fc kid appears to be sweet, gentle, etc. I know when we played them, I did not notice one single thing about the kid. As opposed to every time we have played the "bouncer." Oh, and I am a Westside dad. Fire away....

I am not the mom! I have been around this kid several times. My son has played against him for the past two years in league play and tournaments. They have a lot of mutual friends who have also verified very specific things about his character. Many at FCP! I still can't stand that club. So yes, I can speak to the character of him without being his mother. Move on.

If you all had coaches that taught your kids to keep the ball player like the “bouncer” would not be effective. But because you and your coaches have been so focused on results the past few years you end up stressing about stupid stuff like the “bouncer”

How about focusing on why your goalkeeper punts 20 times per game into the abyss and why you’re teams don’t build from the back.

If a team keeps possession of the ball, then any of the opponents forwards will be "ineffective"--you can't score if you don't have the rock. I'm not sure why a "bouncer"-style forward would be more effective against teams that like to play it long, though--that makes little sense.

If anything, a legit criticism of FC is that THEY (at least last year) were fond of the longball, having a keeper that could reach the other team's penalty area with his puts, and having a big physical striker that can collect and convert longballs is a decided advantage there. But big physical strikers that serve as the tip of the spear (and who need service to be effective) is an established part of the professional game, as well--including teams who prefer to get him the ball on the ground rather than in the air.

A major threshold in a soccer team's development is when play on the ground becomes more accurate and reliable than play in the air. Having to air it out is often considered a failure in high levels of the sport, as more often than not the other team gets the ball. But in youth soccer, even in premier levels, passing on the ground is a risky proposition--the technique is still not quite there for accurate passes, and far too many players will gladly mark their defenders, so short passes on the ground are often intercepted.

The problem with the FC forward is that he's larger than everyone else (which isn't his fault, but if FC really valued development over winning, he would play exclusively with the 04 team), and that he reportedly has a bad attitude and is often unconcerned with the safety of other players (which is his fault). Neither of which have to do with FC's preferred style of play.

Nailed it with the following statement. They don't care about development and the whole program is based on results. It's clear as day. Their parents should have higher standards, but also get caught up in the "winning is all" attitude. Truly ignorant.

Even better they would have this kid playing holding mid or somewhere in the middle where he has to play the game in a 360 degree view. The kid would struggle

Defensive struggle most of game. Crossfire finally broke through with two goals in second half, both on counter. Westside still struggling to get shots.

Crossfire sat 5 starters in first half, so game very slow in first half. 2nd half Crosdfire dominated posession, except the times when #20 pulled down or pork chopped somebody from behind. Hate to say it, but Westside looks terrible, and Crossfire played down to them.
