They have 20 players (largest a U13 DA team can have). Max gameday roster size is 18, so 2 have to sit. That might not be so bad, given the amount of travel involved; hopefully they are rotating the inactive players as much as they can.

Notice the pattern? It's a chit show of ex ADF as mandated by billups, westside by timbers and the desperation to grab arrogant parents and players from fc since westside could not beat them. Tell me it is not political

Of course it's political. Sports only becomes a meritocracy when there are paying customers. Sorry your DS didn't make it.

My deserving son declined a hole, but thanks...,and I would be willing to bet that if and or when he chooses to focus on only soccer he will take whoever is starting in his positions place when he so chooses. Just saying...

Which club did the striker that scored both goals play for?

Lets all agree on one thing- the "your son did not make it so you are mad" call is irrelevant. We have established many deserving players declined, did not show up, live outside the area, etc. and that in no way is the TA roster the elite deserving bunch. If you TA parents can't accept and at least acknowledge that then there is no reason to try and debate, you are obviously blinded by the assumed positional value. And FYI being a timbers academy player is losing more and more luster in the soccer community regionally and nationally with colleges and those in the know each year due to the bribery (billups and other parents buying roster spots and timbers allowing it) and the lack of results from the Timbers academy in league and tournaments

                            Oh, I don't disagree--my kid isn't there either.

Instead, my point is--don't expect it to be fair. It never is. There is no objective standard for assessing soccer talent, especially at this age (when children may be in different stages of physical or mental development). And given that this is a "development" league, meaning that nobody's job is on the line if wins aren't produced immediately, politics is more likely to creep into the process. And that is true even if everything is on the level (and with one parent funding the team, it's clear that not everything is).

But also don't despair about it; if TA does turn into a fustercluck, then it's not likely to be the royal road to success that some think it is.

Nobody from WashT has chimed in. Or CFC. Or Eastside.

(Nor anyone from any of the smaller clubs that generally don't play premier).
