Sorry for the aside, but can anyone tell me the location of where the timbers' academy teams train? Thanks in advance.

Generally at the Timbers training facility in Beaverton.

Sorry. Should be RCF for Rose City Futsal.
BSC, THUSC, Crossfire Utd have relationships with RCF. Likely other clubs as well.

Washington Timbers DA also uses RCF facilities and coaches.

THUSC, BSC & NEU do rent courts for sure at Indoor Centers, Rose City east and west have many available hours for clubs to use since they have 3 courts that are wide open for users much of the year as youth clubs tend to play just 1 session of (Indoor/Futsa) for 2 or 3 months in the winter. Our club uses the hoop at the YMCA much cheaper and 6 courts in one place. We also have used the Courts in Beaverton. They cost a little bit more to rent than the 'Y' both are around $100 an hour cheaper than Rose City, for basically a basketball court. Futsal allows for a low barrier to entry as it can be play on any surface as long as it's flat. Futsal on the street pavement has been the most fun for us in the summer months.

There is some serious Futsal talent in this pool, and there just so happens to be an 05 Summer Tourney in Tigard June 16-18th.

We have an 05 entering DA in Aug, and since everyone's got a different take on this I went to the source and asked the US Soccer DA staff directly. Here are a couple direct quotes from their response...

On whether DA players can participate in events like this during the off season: "A player is allowed to compete in outside competition once the Academy season has ended during the "dead" period.

On whether a player that is entering DA (which doesn't start until August) can participate in such events: "Obviously your son is not currently competing in a DA season so he is free to play in outside competition until his Academy Season starts"

So yes, 05 DA players can participate in this tournament and others. My son will probably be interested in this.

Regardless, our DA coach said no. They (Coaches) make the rules. Bummer.

Here is a useful page to help guide us through the program structure:

I wonder how many clubs will have the program at u15? Sad to think some boys are flooding into this program at u14 with mediocre training only to be homeless at u15 if their little DA club doesn't get big DA next year.
