Unless you are saying that Copa's offense is so good at keeping possession that their defense never has anything to do (which is not the case), this makes no sense.

Copa's no more physical than any other team. Some players are more physical than others.

And I'm aware of no big brothers who work as referees, nor any instances ever where anyone with such a conflict of interest has reffed a Copa game. If you have evidence of such things going on, please spill it--otherwise such accusations are inappropriate.
If you have access I am sure you will find Javier's brother being the ref several times even if his last name is different...sorry you asked and I had to use names but you asked for it...

um. please do not list children's names here. it is completely unnecessary.

it seems its the same competitive adult and likely area coach or assistant coach calling kids out by names as he did two weeks ago calling one of these young men a 'thug.'

      shame on you.

Please, no mentioning players by name. That said, do you view Copa's formation as 3-3-2 or 3-2-3?

If you view them as the latter, then I can see why you might refer to one of the names you just mentioned as a "wing"--that said, he roams the field, and doesn't stick to the left side, even if is his primary channel of attack. (The other player you mentioned is more of a traditional right wing). But Copa usually has another player on the left side, who brings the ball out of midfield and routinely attacks the goal off the dribble, who plays in front of the player you just mentioned, who I tend to view as the left wing in a 3-2-3, with only one true striker on the team. If you view this player as a second striker in a 3-3-2, then it might makes since to call #10 a wing.

But the player you mentioned, who went to Texas, is who I meant by "one of the best in the state".

But plenty of goals come from other than the two boys you mentioned.

If you think this has occurred, you need to complain to OYSA. When? What game?

I don't ever recall seeing any such thing occur. I have no access to referee records, so that is all I can tell you.

You played the most inept offenses alive so far in state cup (contrived or not) and I will go out on a limb and guess that not a single player on the Copa roster plays any other sports period let alone during this spring season. Not to make any excuses but spring has little to no relevance of the quality of the teams come state cup. Some because they have athletes that play other sports and thus miss games January through march and come back when it really it matters and some due to roster changes (which Westside did with the goalie from the #2 seed crossfire). You keep trying to stretch things, what spot did you finish in fall premier? That is what you earned for seeding and nothing else is really relevant....

Gotta play the teams in front of you. Out of the top four seeds, only one faced a significant challenge in group play (ADF), and that club may be having some off-field issues. I was shocked to see them lose by four goals to 4H. Granted, I'll agree that Copa got a weak group--but again, you got to play the games on the schedule, and Copa took care of business.

You would be incorrect in assuming that none of the Copa kids don't do other sports. You would be correct in that Copa generally had its full roster available during spring season.

And I know exactly where Copa finished in fall league. Despite that fourth-place finish, Copa still had the second-fewest goals allowed in fall. The notion being peddled that Copa is a poor defensive team is nonsense--they and FC are the top two defensive clubs (I'll conced Navy is #1), and the gap after that is yuge. And much of that success was before goalie-gate.

Eugene Timber parent here. I do not really know any players by name, but I can speak from our experiences. Westside Copa has a few different midfielders and forwards that have scored several goals against us in our matches.
In our two meetings with FC Portland up in Hillsboro, we were lit up by their left mid (wing) in one game and their center mid in the other. Seems like those two combined for probably seven or eight goals between the two games.

So no clear and concise answer from you.

Nice try at deflection. Red Queen tactic.

Our long national nightmare is over.

Copa vs BSC will be played at Buckman Park, not Powerlines.

                    And there was much rejoicing.

You get so protective of by name, but I said nothing but praise for the two. They score or are involved in at least 80-90% of your goals that were scored that mattered. And over 50% of fc goals were scored on the goalie boot over the top to players who got very good at winning the
ball in the air on the break. Nothing wrong just reality so before you start throwing out nonsense, know your sh@t first. Without the goalie at fc they would have lost several games and without westside's wings they would be in the same boat. Neither midfield is vital for either team

Wait...I just got here. Are you really trying to tell me I cannot chime in after reading all of this? I have an anonymous opinion, and I want to share it!

First off, congratulations to the 8 teams who advanced to the quarters. No real surprises there. (That is not a shot at Bend or Eugene)

Congratulations to OYSA for realizing that it is terrible for their brand (and by their, I mean the Timbers) to allow westside Mafia to once again host a game on wet, 4 1/2 foot high grass.

I know all of the mids mentioned, and they are all good. But Copa guy, please stop. I assure you, nobody needs to hear you drone on and on about this formation or that formation. The thing is Copa guy, you have little sister syndrome. FC is just better. The truth shall set you free. And to address another topic on here...yes, the little guy from Westside is scrappy and savvy as hell at playing. Also, a certain Dallas All Star has a brother who refs his games. Seems like a good guy, but he is biased for his brother, which is understandable. However, it is a conflict off interest and as all of the team and coaches know the brother (and yes parents as well...Hell, I saw him in Eugene at the RTC tournament and instantly recognized him from our game against Westside...) It is in keeping with the general reputation that Conny has earned for the club.
Crossfire, welcome back from the dead. Reports of your demise were greatly exaggerated.
ADF, we hardly even knew you.
                          4H, no gand written rosters.
                          BSC, makes us all proud!
FC, curse your consistency...and could you tell the grandpa who likes to pretend that he is taking photos, to shut up and stop bellowing? Thanks..
CFC, welcome to the show. Nice job so far.

If BSC wins State Cup it will be only the second time in the club's history (20+ years) that they have produced this level of team. Go BSC!
