Your issue with other alliance clubs, including WT, has nothing whatsoever to do with the MLS Timbers DA. All of those clubs, like yours, lose players to the DA. Just like you and your club, the alliance clubs are focused on their own players on their own teams.

The Timbers have no say in how these alliance youth clubs run their own programs, period.
Please stop trying to make anything else out of the clubs.

Perhaps instead, you can be specific in discussing your own problem with the alliance clubs and use specific and cited examples on how you have been personally impacted by your choice to be elsewhere?

I believe enough people have spoken iut on here, for even somebody as dense as you to understand what the problem is. A rich daddy, took his son and coach to the timbers, offered to pay for a team to go to GA, and thenprovided a list of kids that said daddy warbucks and coach wanted to tryout. On it's own, sure no problem. However, the Timbers agreed to this and it would appear in fact jumped at the opportunity. This is where I question the Timbers, as everybody else should. They opened themselves up to this by getting into bed with an individual who has demonstrated that his only agenda is promoting his own agenda. So please stop trying to excuse the inexcusable. Additionally, I have read up on all of the posts about this, and it is clear that you have personally been the one responsible for defending the Timbers on this issue. You have referenced several times that your son is not on the team, correct? I question that highly Daddy Warbucks. Either way, you are close to the situation so I expect you to provide updates from the tourney. Regardless of how I feel about this, I wish the boys well as they represent Oregon. But please quit pretending and preaching.

And there appear to be just as many FC kids on this team as WT kids. Which is good--there are many deserving players at FC who deserve to go! The idea this is a travelling TA team doesn't seem to hold up under scrutiny.

I think the traveling team will be the 05 DA team. 85 percent of games up in Washington and the starting striker position is already filled. Have a great 10 months on that tour bus kids!

But what does this have to do with Westside? About the only think I can think of is that an ODP coach, who works at Westside, recommended some U12 ODP players for this team, including two (out of nine) from Westside. If that's all you got, that's pretty weak.

There are a couple coaches from Westside, and coaches from many other clubs, including non-TA clubs.

Any time a coach serves two or more masters, there's a potential conflict of interest.

Are you alleging an actual conflict of interest? Both of the WT kids going to Texas are very good. You could argue there are better players out there, but neither of them will be out of place on this team. The suggestion that a Westside coach at ODP pulled strings to get clearly undeserving players on the team is hogwash.

The coach is Adam Flynn of the '05 Liverpool Barnes team. Although We lived in Shreveport my son has actually been playing for a Texas club.

Dude, I so agree with this! I happen to know both of these kids and their names should never be posted on here. I also disagree with that posters assessment they are both really good players and for my limited experience with them good kids.

In other news, the Timbers 05 Academy team thrashed the Colorado rapids team this morning. Next game this afternoon. Go Timbers!! And NO, I don't have a kid on the team. I am just a supportive parent who likes to see team mates and local kids succeed. Try it sometime----it's nice.

They were not as fortunate after blowing a 1-0 lead against Toronto the boys fell 2-1 :(
