"Whatevs", while a tad juvenile, adequately expresses the contempt felt towards any bouchedag who would drag Sean Spicer, let alone A**** H****r, into a debate on youth soccer.

It's douche bag, sir. And I believe the poster was not dragging Hitler into your debate (as this really does seem to be YOUR debate) so much as making a comical (although be it questionable) comparison to you and Sean Spicer. Pretty sure I just read somebody else explain this to you a couple pages back. Which I guess explains a lot.

If anything should be compared to the likes of Spicer and the rest of the Trump crew (let's leave Hitler out of this), it's the ridiculous conspiracy theories that seem to be peddled in these parts.


What is true is:

1) The Timbers, with the apparent assistance of a wealthy ex-ADF parent and an ex-ADF coach, have formed an 05 DA team, which is going to participate in the GA Cup.

2) Said team includes several players from quite a few local club teams, including the "big four" in 05 boys. No local club seems to have more than two players involved.

3) Many of the clubs were caught off guard, by varying extent, to this--and are surprised that some of their players are flying to Texas in the middle of State Cup.

4) Some people view it suspicious that this weekend has no games involving affected teams (despite the weekend being Easter, and few games being played at all), and smell a rat.

5) Some parents, particularly at non-TA clubs, seem to object to the Timbers DA/GDA, for various reasons, including a) concern about it siphoning off top talent, b) concern that it doesn't siphon off enough talent from their club (favoring TA clubs), c) concerns their fees are subsidizing DA/GDA, d) questioning the Timbers' competence in running the DA, e) concern that the GDA, in particular, is an attempt to kneecap ECNL, f) general dislike of the Timbers.

The part that some people seem to have trouble with, is the belief that Westside is significantly involved in all of this. AFAIK, they aren't. Copa is focused on State Cup, on tryouts, and on its next year's tournament schedule. But it doesn't matter what I say--any club that has "Timbers" on their jersey are apparently all in cahoots with the MLS team, and jointly and severably liable for anything the big Timbers do--and the burden of proof is on WT to prove their innocence. Again, whatevs.

Here is the problem with your argument so listen carefully because you are acting like a victim and only hearing part of a the message and are getting defensive instantly: your coaches(Westside) are also the coaches FOR DA/RTC and thus the ones making the ULTIMATE selections for the DA an obvious bias. Before you throw out the "Fernando is the coach for this team as this coach"stop. It's the whole manner in which Westside and the Timbers have run things for the past number of years without any clear separation in coaching staffs and decision makers. This is not our first rodeo for many of us with older children (boys and girls) who have watched the entire organization do things in dirty shady manners. If you don't agree then take the patch off your jersey and be real. Once again many do not care if billups paid to have this team created JUST BE UPFRONT about what it is- it's about the manner in which all involved (including jimmy who will stab you in the back) did it. Many times politics and $ play roles in decision making but that does not make it right so stop passing it off as just the way it is.

Here's the ODP coaching staff (boys): I see two WT coaches and one former WT coach on the list.

I see lots of other club coaches--many coming from TA teams, but not all. Grace (from ADF/AUSC) is there.

But part of the deal of being a TA club is making coaching staff available to Timbers-run events (camps, RTC, ODP, etc). The Timbers employ a few full-time youth coaches, but frequently need to supplement from elsewhere.

Of course, cooperation looks like corruption if you're on the outside. Other clubs can and do participate with the Timbers in running their events, even ones not in the Alliance. But some clubs, it seems, would rather not participate and then piss and moan about how unfair it al is whenever a decision goes against them. And two or three clubs in particular, seem to be openly hostile to the Timbers/Thorns involvement in youth sports altogether, and the idea that the local professional team should not only be involved in youth soccer, but get to sit atop the local youth pyramid. But that's how it works everywhere else in the world, with the caveat that in most soccer countries, there's more than one local pro academy to choose from.

Clearly there is a personal beef with Jimmy. Keep it to yourself and don't point the finger at the entire organization. Finally to the bottom of the issue. Hate he player, not the game.

In other news, the Timbers 05 Academy team thrashed the Colorado rapids team this morning. Next game this afternoon. Go Timbers!! And NO, I don't have a kid on the team. I am just a supportive parent who likes to see team mates and local kids succeed. Try it sometime----it's nice.
