Only way that happens is if IFC has just went out convinced parents to leave existing lower level teams and hand picked kids who have no loyalty to those teams. You fill in the blanks from there
Division 2 season is only half over and schedule not out for the rest of the games yet. They will probably play right up to State Cup.
Uh, nobody is playing during weekends of Spring Break--and the weekend after that, state cup begins.
There's a reason that you aren't supposed to do State Cup and non-premier at the same time: THE GAMES HAPPEN ON THE SAME DAYS. OYSA is rather clear that they will not schedule spring league games to avoid State Cup conflicts.
Maybe IFC and SSC are planning on withdrawing from their spring leagues, in order to play State Cup instead--I'd have no problem with that. Possibile the coach/registrar/manager doesn't read the rules and now they are being waived somewhat.

But it is interesting...
Makes you miss OPL... when qualifying for State meant rosters were frozen in the fall and you had to play Premiere. OYSA(Timbers) appears to have no problem with any of that, and instead is only about making/taking money.

State cup is stupid anyways. It brings out the worst style of soccer. As if it wasn't already bad looking.
There should be no state cup until U13 at the earliest.
They were not as good until they added several very good players in late winter and are still recruiting. Won't be enough to win their bracket.
For that poster who asked about HSC here is your answer. It's Why 4H and IFC "come loaded for bear" as one put it come state cup. I guess it's easy when you have no skin in the game and are on scholarship. Funny how certain organizations and teams get shady come this time of year.

How is HSC shady? They aren't playing in State Cup. IFC Eagles earned their spot in State Cup. The shady organization here is OYSA for allowing Cuervos entry. If they had not been accepted they wouldn't be recruiting as heavily. Cuervos and Azul should be removed leaving the top three seeds in brackets of three each like FC has.

Again, don't lump Azul in with Cuervos--they've had a consistent team all year, and AFAIK aren't bringing in any ringers for State Cup.

I suspect that if OYSA booted out SSC and Cuervos, they might go with one group of five, three groups of four, rather than three groups of three and two groups of four. If they did keep the current format, then they probably would put Samba in group E and BSC in group D, simply to avoid both Westside teams in the same group.

Never said eagles did not earn their spot or that HSC was shady, but many clubs are including IFC. Based on the history and past patterns of IFC they have put together a Psuedo "all star team" made up of predominately Hispanic kids that were the top kids on teams like HSC and other non premier teams to go with their primary Eagles team. May have even moved that roster around as well. I guess it's "legal" just shows that those involved are focused on the wrong things. The first games of group b on the 8th will be the answer to all the speculation and whether or not the team truly has the level of talent to play with premier level teams. Spring results posted so far by cuervos mean nothing since it was against the lowest level of 05 competition.
