The fact is, there are some coaches, who are truly trying to develop kids for the next level. There are some good players who are not all going to grow up to be dead beat soccer failures. There are some very realistic and smart parents who understand they don't have the next coming of Messi. Just because you don't understand it, doesn't make it corrupt and wrong. Get a grip.

Just because the kids in your neighborhood play Minecraft when they get home from soccer practice doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.
Have you actually been to the areas that you are referring to, or do you just think that pointing in the general direction of Forest Grove makes you an expert? Do you understand where the kids who play this ‘pick up soccer’ end up playing, or what opportunities they might get to play exist?
I’ll bet you don’t. You are generalizing and amusingly enough, got the Minecraft reference all wrong too.
Next time you decide to declare who and where the best players are, just make sure you know what you’re talking about, and can back it up. Otherwise, you are just another blow hard expressing themselves furiously in an anonymous chat room.

I still occasionally see CS:GO and even ROTMG played at my house; it's not all Fortnite.

Question 2: Quite a few of them are at WT, and are among the team's best players. Cony and his staff are very good at reaching out to the (in this case Latino) communities, especially the ones in places like Forest Grove or Cornelius or such, and bringing them in and supporting them. Hillsboro and Aloha, too.
But you are correct--a lot of poor Latino kids can't afford club soccer or cannot commit to the training schedule even if their fees are subsidized. And this is a big issue; US Soccer in general doesn't know how to reach a lot of these kids even if they wanted to. A lot only play in unaffiliated Latino leagues or in the futsal gyms; some play in low-cost OYSA-affiliated clubs like Cuervos that many of the DA honks here like to make fun of. (Trust me. The crows could beat a few of the DA teams).
As far as Minecraft goes, see my prior comment. My DS still plays it, when tired of Fortnite.

But, I am still not agreeing that these are the best players. Some of them? Maybe, but the ones with talent often do get picked up by a club, often Westside, sometimes FC.
Agreed that it’s not all peaches and creme after that.

Once the integrity of a component of an organization is compromised it does not destroy the entire organization, or even make the entire organization questionable. Take Nike and all their controversy for example. Because of a couple sexist executives, is the entire organization kaput? Should we write off the swoosh entirely? No. Say a family has that one crazy uncle, who is questionable Does that define the whole family? No. We all have that one off the rails relative. Sounds like in your family, it may be you. One small component of an organization, or group does not in fact define the entire group. Take a giant step back and gain perspective. Then let it go. Holding onto that kind of anger will just eat you alive. Sounds like BB and his posse have moved on.....as should you.

I did not say that the entire organization was destroyed. I said that it was "questionable." I hope you can agree on this. Going with your analogy, do you feel (and based on your comments, you do not) that Nike has been destroyed by the revelations that the culture there has become harassing and oppressive to women? Okay, let's try using my words now....Do you feel that Nike's reputation has become questionable? Sure the product remains the same, but now one can question if Nike has indeed been putting out the best product possible due to the culture there. Thus, they are questionable. Same with TA. They compromised their integrity and have lost the status that would.be afforded them, had they not compromised the integrity of their organization.

Most organizations can be challenged and questioned. Especially the most successful ones. Needless to say, your follow up was helpful (not being facetious). Questioning is fine and frankly not offensive. The personal attack on a parent and the implication that the entire organization is corrupt is offensive. It's not all bad, corrupt and full of monsters. The point is, it is actually an extremely good and well intended organization with a lot of promise and potential. It would be advantageous to have the backing of parents and the community, like yourself. After all, we are one community. You can be still be successful with your OYSA, or DA, or whatever it is you are fighting for, AND be supportive of Timbers DA. Know your place, know theirs and again, let it go. That kind of anger is going to give you a heart attack.

And this "bro" culture also includes women's sports, which Nike has been active supporters of. (Adidas sponsors MLS and the Timbers; Nike sponsors NWSL and the Thorns).
Unfortunately, "bro" culture often manifests itself as mistreatment and objectifying of women. Jocks being jerks (and worse) is an old story.
But this has long been a major argument in the world of sports--sportsmanship and fair play vs win-at-all-costs. Where do you draw the line between winning nicely, winning dirty, and outright cheating? A lot of the debate over a certain FC forward comes from different soccer cultures--one in which "dirty" play is frowned upon and ought to be severely punished, and one in which you should show no mercy on the pitch, and if you've never been sent off, you're not playing hard enough.

I'm sure that somewhere in the Metro area is some kids that would turn heads at an 05 TA tryout, that Tracy and company have never heard of. Chances are, I haven't seen him either.
FC is also very good at finding kids in far-flung areas and bringing them in. So is Eastside.
Ignoring the Slytherins; I don't doubt that the vast majority of kids on the TA 05 roster would have no trouble making tryouts for any of the little DA teams. The reverse, obviously, is not true. Generally, kids who can get on TA don't bother trying out for other teams--higher costs and lower prestige. Of course, there are talented kids outside the TA who could probably get on if they did try out (and some who have done so and declined), but the median TA player is almost certainly more skilled than the median local DA player.
