There is a Thorns Academy, but it's for mid-level girls, not the elite players.
ODP = Olympic Development Program - not Player

ODP teams play in Phoenix and the Friendship Cup in Portland because it is elite and the girls all are going to get D1 full rides and play for the USWNT. ECNL is the same but they fly all over to play & are "more elite".

It's not taking all the athletes... At least in Oregon. It's taking pretty good players willing to pay. And call it Elite.

What is superior to it here? Thorns academy has no league to play in, didn't even win league (split OYSA league), got trounced in FRWL. Which club has a superior alternative to ECNL?

It's not taking all the athletes... At least in Oregon. It's taking pretty good players willing to pay. And call it Elite.

If you truly believe this you either have an agenda or are grossly uninformed. Either way you shouldn't be taken seriously. ECNL is the top level of play for young ladies. Over 80% of the girls playing in College Cup were from ECNL. 90% of the all PAC 12 Conference team came from ECNL. ECNL isn't only road to the next level but it is the best road. Thorns Academy is another option. ECNL is more established at this time.
