It wont make them any better. take a step back, tune up the skills playing somewhat local, take down all that you come across again, then go after the next goliath.

constantly loosing is not a way to learn better. Winning one out of 5 games will not make you better. (maybe better conditioning wise, but NOT skill)
It's impossible to take you serious. EVEN if someone used your silly 2 game yardstick you'd move it to 3. You're desperate and it shows in every one of your weak limp wristed posts. Drive 5 hours to beat a rogue valley rec soccer team because OYSA says that's a good idea. I guess at least family values can be reinforced in the car during the drive I guess. Go Timbers!!

Maybe the ECNL teams had a bad weekend. They all did fine last year. None won anything. None lost all their games. Your lame exaggeration about losing all games is just lame.

These girls are out there working hard playing better teams than they will here in Oregon and they hold their own. And by the way you wouldn't know because you're sitting on your fat ass here in Oregon. You have no idea.

The question you TA mouthbreathers need to answer or at least fess up to is why you are so obsessed with the ECNL. If it is a waste of time and money, why waste your time and energy constantly attacking it? The answer is obvious. It threatens you.

So keep attacking it. Keep making fools of yourself. There is a reason your best players continually leave your clubs. Go Thorns Academy!!

      Winner!

If you or your dd doesn't like it, don't do it. Think it's sub-par? What is your alternative that is so much more ideal? It's easy to give advice while arm chair quarterbacking. The attacks and love for the status quo are blatantly obvious. But if you don't actually give any solutions, your just being an *****hole. Not that it matters, ECNL will be fine and go on without you.

TA clubs are a fraud. They are nothing more than glorified rec clubs teaching this stay at home and play your fun soccer on the weekends mentality. Have fun and stay comfortable at home if you're satisfied with that. There really is nothing wrong with that.

ECNL clearly makes you uncomfortable though since you morons can't stop obsessing over it. How does it feel sitting on the sideline with no hope of getting in? I'm sure that was your experience playing sports growing up. You're probably used to it. You're simply not good enough and that is why you resort to anonymously attacking these kids, teams and clubs.

Do you know the teams they played against? No don't even pretend you do because we all know you don't. You don't step outside Oregon so you couldn't. So keep attacking ECNL. Keep making these silly posts. Keep telling kids at your TA rec clubs to not come and that it isn't worth it. Stay home and play 2nd or 3rd tier soccer and boot out some wins and feel like you're accomplishing something.

You're not fooling the real competitors. Go Thorns Academy!!
Where you get it wrong is when you talk competition. These girls are not ready. They are not technically sound enough to compete yet. You are failing your child

Well said. The haters can stay home and to their ribbon and medals collection beating lesser competition. As for my DD, no thanks. I want her to compete. Losing and winning is all a part of it. Just like life.

You are simply wrong. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

That said, why do you care? How does it affect you? Threatened much? Sure looks like it.

One would think with all those Pac 12 commits and national camp players that they would yield better results

No, you're failing your DD by not instilling In her the attitude to compete. Compete in soccer and in all things life will have.

No kidding. It's a different mentality. These fools are satisfied with staying at home where you can be a big fish in a small pond. Not even a big fish when you consider who spends their time attacking the ECNL. Go Thorns Academy!!

Actually that original poster was correct.
Our system has failed many young footballers by instilling too much competition before they even know how to play the game. Trust me....in the right environment there is always competition. The crowd that needs ECNL for the competition are saying that their club doesn't have the capacity to create an environment in training and games that is good enough. This model will be gone soon.

I disagree. A club cannot solely "create an environment in training and games that is good enough". What a laughable and naive statement. A club can not control what local competition surrounds them. If your focus are ribbons and medals, then by all means. In 20 years you and your DD can marvel at just how good you were.

I want my DD to compete against all comers, local or not. It's not "good enough" to be a big fish in a small pond. How do you think the best become the best? Not by settling for "good enough".

I want to instill an attitude that learning to compete is important in sports and in life. I want my daughter to be strong an confident and not be among the sheep of the world, where "good enough" works.

You have to be kidding. Do you really think people believe this drivel? Let's all trust the anonymous fool who wants to bad mouth ECNL because he apparently knows more than the rest of the country! The clubs in the ECNL have created an opportunity for competitive players to push themselves beyond what our local leagues can offer. This is nothing more than a weak thinly veiled attack on ECNL clubs. Keep going. It this really the best you can offer?

You fools are desperate. Go Thorns Academy!

Yeah, it's as if there aren't any Pac 12 commits outside of ECNL or that every ECNL player got Pac 12. Stupid statement dude. Stupid statement.

The clowns are the coaches who went down to Phoenix thinking that it would be good for the girls. Getting clobbered isn't good for anyone. Portland went 0 for the weekend. Good showing. But what else can you expect from a egotistical clown like Tom A. Want to improve Portland soccer, get rid of him.
