Why is no one explaining how the 8th/9th grade mixed teams will work? Will the 8th graders miss half a year of club soccer while the 9th graders are left to play HS or will the 8t/9th year (2002, u15 next year) be 2 season club soccer so that all club players have a club team?

What will make USMNT more competitive is getting more kids playing soccer, not less. Where this fails, the falling numbers participating in baseball and football should give boys soccer a boost in numbers and quality of athletes.

There are plenty of athletes playing soccer these days. The problem is coaching. The year change is fine. Boo hoo to the parents of kids who used to be the oldest and are now the youngest.

Dumb statement.
Going birth year will greatly reduce numbers. Everyone knows that. At U9 girls play soccer because their school friends are playing soccer.
Nobody cares if we are aligned with the rest of the world. Minuscule numbers of kids play internationally.
This change will hurt soccer in the US.

US soccer even says it will reduce numbers.
Anyone involved in soccer knows that school friends drive numbers.
Wipe the drool off your chin.
