    3. Good job to Washington for keeping composure until the end.

    4. I was surprised at how direct both teams played.
    1. Your kid must have never played in any matches that meant something. Go to any match where the teams are playing in a meaningful game and the people on the sideline will be that way. Half of the people yelling might be just fellow parents of kids in the club and not have any kid on that team but was just there supporting the club.

    4. They were about as indirect as any youth soccer team there is. If you are expecting the Japanese style, you are not going to find it. The teams were composed in working the ball out of the back and I didn't see too many big clearances. They did clear the ball out of bounds when they felt they were in trouble, but I can't blame them for that.

Hysterical coaching by parents from the stands is really sad to listen to. I only watched the last 15 mins but had to turn the volume off.

Colorado was sending in long balls but that was simply because their striker was a lot faster than the defenders. That's just smart soccer. If you were knowledgable you'd know that. They should have gotten more goals. Couple of shots just wide and couple of nice saves by the GK.

I suspect that at some point in our youth soccer parent careers we should all see a video of ourselves and hear how we are acting. I think more parents than not have caught themselves at one point or another acting off the chain. I have been guilty and have really had to learn to keep it under wraps. I come from a long lineage of fanatical sports fans. Not a good excuse but.......LOL

No different than what happens in a state championship basketball or volleyball or football game. Parents and fans yell directions in close games all the time.

That's the point. I think all of us are guilty. Those that are dismayed by the parents in that game should have videos of themselves. Actually it's pretty telling because most good teams do have their games shot so players can make highlight tapes. The parents who are saying these parents were over the top clearly have low level players who have no reason to be filmed.

                  That was hilarious.

And who is the guy that says "come on Shultzy!! Yes Shultzy, yes!!" frantically 2,000 times?

Pretty sure the kids are playing soccer for themselves and not to perform like a trained seal for their parents. It would sure be nice if parents just kept it quiet. I'm sure the kids would really appreciate it.

                  It's not about parents.

I bet it took that mom three days to recover from the effort she put into the game.

Our club makes it very clear that parents shouldn't be involved in the game.

The "Shultzy" they are referring to is a national team player who is going to North Carolina and is the best player on that team. She was responsible for the final goal. I couldn't tell who sent in the cross on the first goal or who headed it, but I would not be surprised if she was involved. For those at the U17 age group and who played NWCL and ECNL know her well as she was dominant at U11. The player from Colorado who assisted on both goals is also a national team player and is currently playing on the U20 team and is projected to be the next big star for USA women's soccer. Her sister plays for Oregon and she is going to UCLA as the number one recruit in the nation. Two great teams led by two phenominal players. My dd knows of them both and was giving me play by play during the game.

They should put plexiglass shields around soccer fields, like in hockey. That way the kids don't have to listen to the hysterical parents.

Kids need to hear that from parents. The more frantic the energy from parents, the more coaching from parents, the better they perform.

When the kids travel without parents they have a hard time getting motivated and usually don't know what to do without parents directing all their actions.

You wouldn't understand because you probably have never been in to a meaningful game.

Really? That is your take away????????????? I thought it was an awesome game and didn't see or hear anything out of line from parents watching a national title game. Maybe you should stick with golf ... much quieter.

Not involved like in comatose? The only thing I found distracting was the 100s of college coaches lining the field and blocking the view,
