But if you think your team is all that, name the team so we can all bow down to you.
Lol. If you haven't figured out that Oregon is subpar in soccer you are truly stupid. Look around you. Is it that hard to see?

How bout you name YOUR DK team on this forum? You might be stupid enough to do it... If you're stupid enough to think Oregon soccer is 'all that'...

Basic response to your post: who cares? Do you really think coaching is that much better at Timbers or FCSC? Yes, there are a HANDFUL of good and very good coaches at those clubs but, unless your DK is college-level material, does it REALLY matter?
You're the exact guy I'm talking about.

If you really don't care, or think it matters, you need to step away and stop confusing parents with you subpar passion and knowledge.

Bitter ~ no, it's the truth, which you seem to wrestle away with your BS. Glad you agreed that there are a handful of better coaches around, at least you're not totally gone.

Just to clarify, cause there seems to be some misunderstanding here......there's more than two people posting if you're having a hard time figuring that out.

Oregon soccer isn't "all that", it's just way better than Vantucky soccer.

I'm sure there are. People will do a lot for their DKs and some think that driving 45 mins or more to a far away club will give them something the local club can't. Most of them are fooling themseves.

Unless your local club is WT_FC. Then there is no option but to go elsewhere. Anywhere is better than WT_FC.

I do care, I'm not BSing, and I'm adding to the conversation, unlike you who just comes across as bitter and upset. Too bad all your "passion and knowledge" can't be channeled in a positive way and you need to come on here and badmouth.

Before you get all angry again at coaches and PFC, why not propose what you would do if you were running Vancouver soccer?

Unless your local club is WT_FC and you have a boy that is in high school. Then you have no option but to play WT_FC or give up high school soccer.

I'm not the original poster you are asking the question to but I love the question and I will bite. It is a great question and probably the best question this site has seen in a long time.

The question is, how do you build a soccer program that takes care of all skill levels? right now over at WT_FC they have the only model that has kids who play for fun to kids that are super serious and everything else in-between. They are essentially the Fred Meyers of soccer. With that comes some negatives though. WT_FC doesn't focus on one thing and therefore isn't excellent at one thing but average at lots of things. In talking with some of the new coaches this is changing as you read this as the new DOC has pushed for accountability and expectations from coaches have doubled. In fact I hear that a few lower tiered coaches will be leaving because of what is expected of them to coach a second or third team. I commend the new staff for raising the bar, it has been needed for a long time.

That model can work with the right people in place. there are enough quality coaches in Vantucky to combine and create 3-4 Premier teams at every age group/gender.......after that it should be called rec.
with the combination of resources in the area one club would become more competitive in the long run.

Not 100% accurate. Both FCSC and Pacific have some HS boys teams and play in the PSPL so they don't conflict with HS soccer.

FCSC has one, and they just made that team this year.

Sounds like growth on the west side, at the expense of the 800 pound gorilla on the east side...

We drive across the river and our DK plays for one of the top teams in the area. We left because of SD and the inability of WT_FC to put forth a quality product (coaches, DOCs, fields, operations). We did not depart because we were fooling ourselves, we departed because we wanted a positive experience and we were willing to put in the work (driving) to get one. The new management has work to do to earn back the trust of its community but progress is being made and if they can keep from derailing themselves you may, someday, see a quality team at WT_FC after 8th grade.

No. Oregon soccer is equivalent of Idaho soccer, slightly better than Wyoming or Montana. Oregon would like the entire world to think differently, but no. Just no.

I think competition is a good thing but, 3 clubs is too much. It be nice to see only 2 clubs. One that focuses on premier only and one for select soccer.
