I don't think anyone said anything about coaches going to league games other than the local coaches. It is not like they have an unlimited budget. They will go to the showcase where they get the most bang for their buck. The UofO and PSU coaches were at some of Sunday's ECNL matches.

Nothing to brag about.

Let me know if I was missing a coach.

Just remembered that I saw the power house, better known as, University of Idaho at the games as well.
LOL, you gave yourself away now..I know exactly who you are. So the purpose of you attending those games was to now come back and bash ECNL on a soccer blog. Wow unbelievable.

Your memory is faulty then because when the point was made that the ECNL league games will cost travel money, but won't have coaches attending, the ECNL folks, or some anyway, said that they will be there. Just trying to put the cost into perspective in that the bang will be in the showcases, but the buck is in both the travel for league and for showcases.

And then the justification was about having to pay to travel to face better competition. So, our ECNL teams performed well this weekend. There were a number of games where they scored 4 goals. So tell me, is this the level of competition you were hoping for? Honestly, given that our teams came mainly from three OPL teams, do you remember those OPL teams beating other OPL teams by these margins on a regular basis? Did our OPL teams that formed our ECNL teams get beaten once in a while by other OPL teams? So really, so far, the competition hasn't been much better than what they got in OPL.

It's funny when people think that they know who people are on an annonymous blog.

            You know this how?

You have been so consistently wrong about all of your proclamations I don't know why I'm bothering to respond to this one buuuuut. Based upon what information do you know that there were not any college representatives at the 15-18 ECNL games for the local clubs this months?

It was my actual experience on the ECNL sidelines that the local schools send "someone" over to watch. I highly doubt you would know who they are unless they introduced themselves to you or you asked who they were. So let's put this "claim" in the same dumpster with your "they aint gonna win a game" and the "they ain't gonna score any goals" pronouncements.

In addition to the "usual NW suspects" these teams will be seen MULTIPLE times by multiple schools from across the country. Does that mean they are going to get "offers" or even meaningful offers? Of course not but they are going to have to the opportunity to make arrangements with their targeted school to see them play high quality competition and YES that will include Bay Area schools when they travel to play league games. But of course you won't believe that.

Will the Academy get NW exposure? Hell yes! If they perform as expected in FWRL they should add a trip to Regionals to their Vegas exposure so they have two chances to compete for the attention of major programs.

Pointing out that there are more coaches watching fewer high quality teams at an ECNL showcase than Vegas is lost upon you but that is a big difference when you are asking for a coaches attention.

So let me see if I have this straight. You think that a few coaches attending the Academy practice for the twenty U17 & 16's girls not committed says what compared to the 200 girls competing for the ECNL clubs this weekend?

You seemed to be focused on the level of competition of ONE weekend but have neglected to tell us where the Academy played any meaningful competition this or last month compared to Phoenix.

The Academy "might" play ONE game against the quality of the FOUR against the Northern ECNL clubs outside of one or two at Vegas and one or two more in the first round of Regionals so please save the comparisons until then. Further the Bay Area clubs are not weak at every age so they will get more competition than the Academy will see playing the OYSA U17/18's.

This weekend and in January the Academy is playing some of the teams that aren't good enough to be in the NWCL this weekend...

I said it earlier, playing in the elite club league is expensive but if you break it down it's probably less than $800 per month which is within reach of most families.

Stop the bs about it being too expensive.

We realize it's not panning out to be all it was advertised to be. But it's still a good experience. You have to admit that.

I know right. Especially when this site logs all your personal info every time you visit. Privacy is an illusion.

They were clear at the beginning that expectations should be low. Nobody promised anything.

But the fact is, you can't get into that information and in the end, if you could, it wouldn't mean much to you.

And the only reason you knew it was close to your house is because you know your address. If someone else could even get your IP address, do you think that they would spend a bunch of time looking at who lives in all of the houses within those few blocks? And the names wouldn't mean anything to them anyway, even if they did take the time to do it. People posting here can be parents of girls, boys, or even people who don't have players but do this to rile other's up. Which by the way, seems to work.
